@@ScottCooper136 PJ? That’s awesome. That’s what my youngest son wanted to be in the Air Force. I once asked him why and he thought for a minute and replied with “Because I would get to save the men and women that deserve to be saved”. What a great answer I thought. He didn’t get to pursue that career because he got kicked out of the Air Force for not taking the vaccine. Anyway, brother. Thank you for your service and I don’t say that lightly. We do have a pretty good network of local installers and we ship nationwide if you think we might be able to help you out. The problem in most peoples eyes is the search warrant for the guy, whether it was legit or frivolous was for the guys person and property and was legit for that reason but it does not extend past that and certainly not to the company of Liberty Safes to become involved. Had the FBI obtained a court ordered subpoena for the safe codes to that particular safe, then it would have been a legitimate transaction. However, whether they got a phone call from agents on the scene or through emails and Liberty just rolled over without question is what we as private citizens have a huge issue with.

If I own a jewelry store and sell a customer a $100,000 necklace, and so happen to take their information for warranty, customer relation, and other issues, I don't see why even under court order any reason why I should be required to release information about my clientele. The very practice discourages customers from voluntarily leaving their info and in turn hinders my business. The same goes for safe stores.

This isn't just a concern in the USA. I'm in the UK and bought a mechanical lock that specifically comes with a change key. Once it's changed there's no serial numbers or any backdoors. The problem is that the vast majority of safes ARE ALL "cheap junk". Any "safe" you are going to buy at your local sporting goods store is "cheap junk". To buy a LEGIT "safe", and one that holds a decently large number of guns, you are talking well over $10,000. Even over $20,000. Something like Graffunder's "Bishop"-level safes, which have solid 1/2" thick steel outer doors, are about $14,000 for an average-sized gun safe. To me, "average-sized" is a safe that has one side that holds long guns, the other side has shelves that can be converted to hold long guns if you want, and then another shelf or two on top. How many people do you know who are going to spend $14,000 for a gun safe? One that, in reality, only holds a few guns? Not many. As you increase in security...up to something that has a 1.5" solid steel outer door...and size, you are going to be over the $20,000 mark.

Odd how people keep missing the fact that a warrant was issued so had this idiot who is making the video been given the same request he of course would have done the same thing. So can anyone here explain to me what the issue really is? A warrant is issued for a search and they get to the safe and the owner does not comply. there are a few options. You destroy the safe by opening it, OR you hire a locksmith to get into the safe OR you request the combination. Lawful order was given. Other than to say my safe is better than your safe what is the point of this video?
@parkerssafes
Жыл бұрын
I disagree sir. Our 4th amendment states that the warrant has to "particularly describe the place to be searched and the person or item to be seized". In this case, there was no specific mention on the warrant addressing Liberty Safe as a company or the safe itself. The FBI simply requested that LIBERTY give them the code and LIBERTY did. The fact that the FBI would have gotten into the safe one way or another is irrelevant. I agree that we should comply with law enforcement and warrants of course, but accordingly, the warrant should be properly issued. It's basically like this, just having a warrant doesn't give law enforcement free reign to search wherever they want for whatever they want or mandate help from outside sources. The warrant has to describe precisely what is being seized AND the location to be searched. Here's a simple example. If a warrant describes a bicycle as the thing to be seized and a house as the place to to be searched, then when they execute the warrant, they shouldn't be looking in the kitchen drawer where a bicycle wouldn't fit. That would be "unreasonable" and would violate one's 4th amendment rights. We have such rights to protect our stuff. I wouldn't be so quick to give up these rights just because some agency so asks or waives a piece of paper in our faces. Make them do their leg work and go through the proper channels. These agencies overreach at every turn as We the People remain silent most probably because we don't really know our rights. Here's the narrative... THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO BE SECURE IN THEIR PERSONS, HOUSES, PAPERS AND EFFECTS SHALL NOT BE VIOLATED, AND NO WARRANT SHALL ISSUE BUT UPON PROBABLE CAUSE, SUPPORTED BY OATH OR AFFIRMATION, AND PARTICULARLY DESCRIBING THE PLACE TO BE SEARCHED AND THE PERSONS OR THINGS TO BE SEIZED. -United States Constitution, Bill of Rights, 4TH Amendment. I hope that helps shed some light on this idiots' video.
