Nice! Never used the logical maps before. I do use GPS in our units in the field to auto populate the SNMP location string which librenms show us on the geo map. Cool trick .

This reminds me of building maps in "The Dude" (Mikrotik's free monitoring app) when I worked at an ISP
@FinlayDaG33k

I'm currently using TheDude but might toy with LibreNMS after seeing this. TheDude is just really sluggish and overall pretty limited (can't have the same device on 2 maps, that is already a huge limitation).

The best part about LibreNMS is how natural it fits together and presents what you need.
@AtreidaeChibiko

@@FinlayDaG33k the only really benefit I see to the dude these days is that you can have remote mikrotiks run the agent so you don't have to have SNMP flying over the network. It was a much bigger concern when I only had 1.5mbit of satellite backhall for 500 customers

Would be cool if it used LLDP to help make some of the maps
@TallPaulTech

It does try to use LLDP for discovery, and I'd say that plays a part in its automatic map generation. I just like doing my own ones how I like them.

I worked with software that produced maps eliciting the same reaction as yours - FH. What I really want for this sort of thing is done from the CLI, so that I can parse it, reproduce it, and export it. Thanks for the iperf, I'd forgotten about that.

That looks really neat; will have to give that app a go. It feels like someone needs to write an auto edge connector that can at least suggest what it looks like the connected ports possibly are - must be in the ARP tables ?

Why do you have the edges and ports manually? Would be good when visibility and location on the map can be deduced from attributes („building“) automatically

For when say, a VLAN is limited to 50Mbps during "normal" operation but is allowed to take 75Mbps for 60 seconds (burst) if there is bandwidth to spare. At that point, it'd show 150%.
