Good drama. Well paced action. But shallow and 2 dimensional. There wasn't any layers to the story. Movie was a mish mash of Gravity, Alien and Flubber. Take from that what you will.
Good: High quality production. Really felt like it was filmed in space in a space station. Good choice of using close ups and tight shots. Appropriate music. Interesting playout of a well explored premise.
Bad: Characters were flatter than a piece of paper. Title character dies early on. Huh? Why even get a name on the posters sia. Bad guy wins in the end. Cliche editing near the end gave away the final twist that showed the alien wins. B style movie plotline with A list actors and an A+ production. Evil alien was portrayed really well, except that I didn't understand why it needed a face. It was fucking scary as it is without a face. Black guy almost died first. Another cliche. Black guy does get attacked and hurt first.
Overall, while highly entertaining, #Life's ending made it a very unsatisfying movie to watch. but I must admit it's refreshing to some extent. Definitely worth watching in cinemas, but don't expect the depth you'd get from Alien, Interstellar, Gravity or even Flubber.
