My Mom and my aunt and uncles went to school with Conway in Helena Arkansas. They grew up with him and were close friends. I met him once when he flew in and stopped in to our town and in his private plane and we all met him there. I was young but will never forget it. I grew up listening to all of his music and have loved all of them. He was such a down to earth country guy. He was taken far too young. 😢

Miss Conway so much. Two of the sexiest voices in Country Music, Conway Twitty & Marty Robbins! And you can't get any better than Coway & Loretta singing together. I will never forget High School days. 3rd hour I didn’t have a class and I would be doing things in the Home Mecanomics living room and always had the radio on low while sprucing things up! Conway was very big and to many bigger than Elvis although we liked Elvis as well. But Conway was my personal favorite!! What a sad day when he died. I sold the last ticket to his last show, he was ever to perform. It was to be at Little Nashville Opry in Nashville, Indiana. Conway Twitty was to perform on Saturday Night and he died on Thursday. It was a terrible shock to us all... I heard Twitty had passed away, on the radio, in my car, on my way to work at LNO. When I entered the LNO office, to be with my co workers... I immediately asked had they heard: "That Conway Twitty, had just passed away?" Every thing went into Frenzy mode with shock... LNO had 3 sold out shows. 2 on Saturday evening and 1 on Sunday afternoon, for Conway Twitty. Boo Hoo.
