Love your vlogs Lakey. Love the way you and Tom interact, and seeing how hard you work. Your results so far this year in no way reflect your talent, and I’m sure if you can just surf in the contests like you do when you’re free-surfing there’s much better results to come. I guess the pressure of being in a heat must be huge and hard to ignore. Best of luck x

Good luck! Your videos are always the best part of my week. I was wondering what some of your favorite foods are and your favorite tea because each year we rotate through my siblings and have a themed tea party and they have veered from tea party but we still have tea, so anyways if you could tell me what tea you like and what foods you like I would appreciate it haha, I'm gonna wear my new blenders sunglasses and my wsl jersey. Great video as always, I hope soon you spike and get a ton more subscribers

❤ i deleted my comment so i can write another, rewatching some vlogs. im all about the rook. and pink. id be stoked with an unlimited lifetime supply of rook 15s, and nothing else :) (maybe when i get 'too old', and too broken (im getting there) to rip as hard as i am at the moment, knee boarding and barely able to turn compared to proper pivot snaps, but so stoked nonetheless, then the rook 15 can be thickened and lengthened so i can forever ride blades and blades only, forever, and ever, and no 'long board eggs, nor funs, no fishes, no mid lengths (does a 6'6" to 7'6" rook blade count as mid length? :) today the waves were small, but steep and hollow, but too small to actually safely or effectively knee board, so i body boarded on my rook, and had the best sesh ever. seriously, so fun! my little 6'2 rook was so perfect to get barreled on my tummy, and even 'shred' some sections super hard with an almost sort of floater on an incoming section, which probably looked hilarious that i even attempted it. but seriously, the beautiful glassy crystal clear blue water, sand bottom, bright sunny clear blue sky, dolphins passing by, my pelican and seagull friends, and having the perspective of being so close to the water surface while racing down the line or dropping in (especially with perfect nose shape and rocker leading the way) was epic, and made my day and will be very memorable like days i remember having in the late 1980s :) i love my lil rook so much :)

You ever look at any of Knees Over Toes Guy’s stuff? He is the best in the business when it comes to squat technique and training. His tutorials increased my athleticism big time. I saw you had the balls of your feet propped up, that’s why I asked. Are you trying to gain ankle mobility? You should look at his work, but what I can say is, it’s all about completely full flexion for every squat, elevating the heals, getting knees over toes, and working at full end range in every rep so you’re perpetually pumping synovial fluid into the knees to create more resilient, stronger, attachments. Idk, I think for any serious athlete his work is worth a look. Good luck in Oz.

We do most of our plyometrics in the off season and in the little breaks we do have. I’ve really loved using the vertical jump resistance belt for that… doesn’t load your back too much but improves power and pop in your legs a lot.

Is the Weather in Australia warmer and hotter than the USA, or is that just a myth? Americans say the Australian summer is hotter than in most places of the US. After watching this, I just felt the need to ask? lol
@Lakey_Peterson
Жыл бұрын
Haha good question. The more north you go in Aus the warmer it gets. I would say Queensland is like a Floridian summer where Victoria summers are a little more like those in Oregon.

Why short range of motion on your hamstring pulls?
@Lakey_Peterson
Жыл бұрын
I've always trained full range hamstring strength however did some strength testing and found that my high fibers are substantially weaker.... therefore I've been doing work above 90 degrees with them... I personally hate it though as I'm terrible once it goes past 90 haha

WHY are your wetsuit logo free ,majority of WSL events you are in full steamer. NO logo is a trend , but your wetsuit sponsor deserves exposure. TRY leg squats in surfing stance , squat to floor and drive up. You are an inspiration to all surfers.
