Just be careful not to focus on one area too much as it does take a small layer of the enamel off when doing this.

*Try using a bamboo chopstick!* Bamboo cell walls contain silicates, which is why bamboo cutting boards grind the edges right off your very best & MOST expensive knives, so DON'T use bamboo cutting boards! (Cutting boards are best when made of end-grain maple wood.) However, that silica mineral component is absolutely _BOFFO_ for scrubbing things, especially when coupled with my very bestest "Ol' Buddy" - *Barkeep's Friend!* *TRY it; you'll LOVE IT!* 👵❣

Omg you’ve traumatised me for life. I need to get a non-bamboo chopping board now! 🤣

Use Mr muscle oven cleaner, spray it on, stick it in a bag, seal it 1 hour later good as new without any elbow grease

Magic sponge is a bad idea; it will ruin the finish. Better to make a paste with your selected cleaner, soak the cleaner/walk away for an hour and let it work, come back and lightly scrub the mix with a scratch-free pad or brush. If you're working hard, it needs more time to soak; re-wet product and repeat.

Just use Le Creuset Cleaner and it does not damage the pans or lids

I tried it once or twice, wasn’t happy with the results and my le creuset pots are well taken care of. It seems like liquified pumice and $39.

My mother has one that looks to be about the same age and it is Rusted on the bottom. I don't understand how that happened and what was supposed to be there but there is a complete rusted Circle over the bottom, the surface that touches the stove. Any idea how to fix that? I've looked at them in the stores the new ones and I can't figure out how on earth that could have happened and what was supposed to be there.

Red Devil Lye and bamboo skewers... soak first, then scrub, then restore shine with grapeseed or olive oil.

I've not found anything that gets rid of brown marks inside but DONT use bleach as it makes more brown marks as it reacts with the metal underneath.

Great tip there Tom. I could help but be reminded of the Monty Python 'Self Defence Against Fresh Fruit Class' sketch when you were talking about 'pointed sticks'... that aside, the lid looked great at the end. Thanks for sharing!

I tried this before, years ago, and it removed enamel from my pot. It wasn't even from the scrubbing. The drips did it. Is this not the same as the type that is in the canister with holes on top?

The poster above mention to condition with grape seed or olive oil. It’s gives that dull lid a nice sheen!
