You make off Grid Farm Life look easy but that's only for those of us who don't take the full workload of the day into account. Thanks for showing the smile's that comes out of doing what you have a great passion for! I often read in the comments section people saying how much they enjoyed life on the farm as a kid, and your children so often show why and that's even it seems when required to do certain tasks. I can only imagine how much of the workload your children will probably relieve you of as grow older. But how great it is now 👏 that they can just be kids.

If you made a puzzle out of a photo of your house in the snow, I'd buy it. Solar panel cleaning tip: take a long stretch of 550 cord, one person on each side, with the cord over the solar panels. pull back and forth in a saw-like motion, working down the slant of the panel. This will remove the majority of the snow with minimal effort (downside is it takes 2 people)

Still amazed at how much she knows about farm life, aside from being a teacher. Coming from a non-farm upbringing, how much of this is common knowledge for farm people?... my dads family was in the dairy world. They owned several dairy’s and my dad was a milkman, but nobody knows where the milk came from... if I remember correctly it was driven in, but from where we don’t know. One closed when I was little, the other closed when my great uncle retired. My dad’s milkman’s job ended when the dairy closed.

I challenge Josh to create some kind of automatic rail sliding wiper or any defrost system for the solar panels :) one could also be a slow warm water stream on top. With the warm water stream the water would go below the snow, melt the ice and it would automatically made the snow slide down. Be strong Josh!

Josh, you seem very creative. You should design a track system that you could mount on the ends of the solar panel housing that would allow you to connect some sort of brush or fabric panels to. Like a grain or wood conveyor. Mount a motor in the bottom of the solar panel housing that would make the tracks move. After it's done snowing turn the track system on and the solar panel would be cleared of snow. Saving you time to do other things around the farm and house.
