@Amarendra Dasa Official very good explanation but Avathara of Prahlada (Son of Hiranyakashipu who was killed by God Narasimha) - Bahlika Raja - Shri Vyasa Tirtha (Near Hampi, Karnataka. who was the Raja Guru to Southern King Krishna Devaraya) - Now Sri Raghavendra tirtha (Brundavana , Sri Madhvacharya Moola samsthana in Mantralaya, Andra Pradesh). There are many evidence in books like Raghavendra Vijaya.

Hare Krishna 🙏 There are few corrections needed in this video. 1. Sri Hanuman, Bheema and Madhvacharya are incarnations of Mukhyaprana Vaayu Deva (not Vaayu Deva that we know of in Puranas) He is much higher than the Vaayu deva (Pravaaha Vaayu Deva) 2. Father name of Vaasudeva(Sri Madhvacharya's Purvashrama naama) is Madhyageha Bhatta not Narayana Bhatta 3. Shankukarna incarnated as Prahlada in Satya Yuga, Bahalika raja in Dwapara Yuga and as Sri Vyasaraja Teertha and Sri Raghavendra Teertha in Kali Yuga

Sir, either we can be a fish and have an independent identity or a river uniting the sea (loose yourself in devotion so what remains is God). Depends on how each individual perceives it. I didn't understand why God wanted Shankara to be born on this earth and purposefully misguide people by preaching wrong philosophy. No mother wants to misguide her children purposefully, isn't that wrong on the divine side? Did God intentionally send such a philosopher to misguide the people? Your explanation looks hilarious

I have a very different view on this, in my view the greatest achievement of Sri Adi Shankaracharya was to unite people forgetting sectarian differences under the one umbrella of Sanatana Dharma and to fight intellectually with the Buddhist philosophers. Since, Buddhists rejected the authority of the Vedas, so Sri Adi Shankaracharya basically utilized the tenets of Buddhist philosophy and added to it the concept of eternal Brahman and soul and defeated their arguments. After reading the works of Sri Adi Shankaracharya and his biography, I have no doubt that he himself never believed in impersonal Brahman nor the philosophy of Advaitha Vedanta because he composed various devotional hymns and his life is riddled with the encounters with the Supreme in various forms. I have been exploring this angle recently after contemplating on the apparent contradictions in Sri Adi Shankaracharya's life itself and his theoretical teachings on Advaitha Vedanta.

@@critical_analysis Good to know about this. May be some people misinterpreted his teachings. Advaita vedanta does not necessarily mean a human is equal to God, but a human may attain divine qualities and everything that exists on this universe is God. Even our Vedic mantras say 'Poornamadah Poornamidam'. His nirvana ashtakam talks about the real identity of all souls (who am I) - chidananda roopa shivoham shivoham. I don't agree with the Iskon speaker that he was intentionally sent to misguide people and those who follow his philosophy will be filtered out. Adi shankara was one of the greatest yogis.

@@tejaswinichitnis3250 Yes, you are right there can be never be any doubt about the greatness of Sri Adi Shankara. To me, more than his philosophy his actions of bringing different people into the fold of Sanatana Dharma was more telling and influential. As I said earlier, I really don't believe he followed the philosophy what he had preached. At the end of the day, one can only judge a person's philosophy, if he has followed it by himself or not. We say Lord Rama is "Satyamoorthy" (symbol of truth) because he lived all his life by practicing those values. Whatever may be the goals of Sri Adi Shankaracharya (the one could be which I already explained above to defeat the arguments of Buddhists) but he did not practice the philosophy he preached. Let's take some of the examples from his biography (authentic as per Sringeri Peetha) which contradict what he preached and what he actually practiced. 1. When Shankara was going around for "Bhiksha" (asking for alms) he encountered a woman who was very poor but still that woman searched in her house desperately for some food and found a gooseberry and gave it to Shankara as bhiksha. Seeing the hapless state of the poor woman, Shankara was overcome by great compassion and he composed "Kanakadhara Stotram" (stotra praising Sri Maha Lakshmi) extempore and it resulted in him having the darshan of Sri Maha Lakshmi and the goddess showered the poor woman's home with golden gooseberries. This incident proves that Shankara believed and prayed to a supreme entity, so does the other numerous compositions which prove it like the Bhaja Govindam on Lord Krishna, Narasimha Karavalambam Stotra on Lord Narasimha, Soundarya Lahiri on Goddess Durga and so on; 2. Shankara was against the Mimamsa philosophy (follows strict ritualistic interpretation of the Vedas) but at the same time Shankara was much concerned in completing the final rites for his mother. If he truly believed in the futility of the rituals then he should not have bothered with the rituals concerning final rites. 3. Shankara encountered a "Chandala" (Actually it was Lord Shiva who was in disguise) in his path and he admonished that Chandala and asked him to move out of his path then that Chandala gave a lesson to Shankara saying that the Sun gives the heat to all irrespective of their social status, the same is the case with wind/water and so on, then why does Shankara does this differentiation? It was a jolt to Shankara because till that time he only preached his philosophy but never practiced it. One can only gauge from the above that Sri Adi Shankara was a human with all his flaws but those flaws don't diminish his greatness in my eyes as he strived hard to protect the Sanatana Dharma and take on the opponents who were hellbent to wipe out the Vaidic traditions. I salute Sri Adi Shankara for this great effort rather than his philosophy because at the end of the day one can only judge a person's philosophy by checking if that person himself followed it or not. This is not the case with Sri Ramanujacharya nor Sri Madhvacharya as they lived all their life by what they preached. The Vedas are divine revelations which give people various paths to attain Moksha and hence one cannot say "only so and so" is the correct way and all. The Vedas are too deep for anyone to interpret it fully and correctly, hence we see different interpretations for it ranging from Sri Adi Shankara, Sri Ramanuhacharya, Sri Madhwacharya, Sri Dayananda Saraswathi and so on. I find the Vedas to be inline with what Lord Krishna taught in the Geeta, that is it gives us humans various paths to strive for Moksha, it could be Bhakthi, Gnana, Karma and so on.

@@critical_analysis very nice and elaborate explanation Indrasena. One straight question if you have watched the above video, do you agree that Shankara on purpose spread the wrong philosophy? The speaker says so in the above video
@critical_analysis
2 жыл бұрын
@@tejaswinichitnis3250 No, I don't agree with it that Shankara purposely spread the wrong philosophy. After all, human beings are nothing but sum of their experiences. I strongly feel that after reading Shankara's philosophy, his life events, his achievements etc., that Shankara might have found that there is something more deeper than sheer intellect and hence embraced the path of Bhakthi too aided to his sharp intellect. Otherwise to a staunch Advaitin it doesn't much sense to compose devotional hymns one after the other and write specific stotrams extolling specific physical characteristics as per Shastras of various deities instead of teaching abstract concepts on Maya/Avidya and so on. I don't agree with some of the concepts of Shankara's philosophy and find deficiencies in it but that doesn't come into picture while appreciating the greatness of this remarkable individual.
