Very informative, thank you. It's hard to think about the fact that we are only a few generations removed from a time that it was legal to own another human being.

The tour guide gave an incorrect description of a plantation. We all need to call it exactly what it was, it was a forced labor camp. And do not refer to the slave owners as elite families. They owned human beings as property and treated enslaved people as animals.

I dont know if hes being celebrated. We have beautiful architecture from this time. It is being admired, just like we admire ruins from Greek and Roman times.

I don't know if he's being celebrated. We have beautiful homes from this era that we see and admire. We admire architecture from Greek and Roman times also . How they came about is horrible. It's possible for both .

That's a big house. Probably fit alot of people. No AC either. Hot as fuck here in the summer. Wouldn't make alot of sense to have such a big house. Can hold alot of heat. Mmmmm

It would have been nice if you commented about the African-American pictures that were on the wall behind the presenter. Were they formally enslaved at Redcliffe? I'm sure the interior of the building the presenter was in, was not that sturdy as when the enslaved would have lived there. The presenter did a nice job. It needs to always be communicated that the enslaved people had no choices concerning their lives. Thanks

Glad this video was informational. Our interpreters go much more in-depth during tours at the park but we're appreciative that we can educate so many virtually about this historic site.

The cabins would not have been sturdy? Slaves were wealth. Owners might not have treated them "well" but they wouldn't have endangered them with collapsing quarters either. These cabins are still standing because they're solid. Not insulated or comfortable, but solid.
