I used to love spring skiing at Crystal Mtn in WA when it was still a nice locals' mountain. Not too crowded, snow was a little slushy but not too bad, wasn't freezing my butt off in the high winds. In 1997 they were open until late April. Good that they let you stay sheltered. Sadly Intrawest bought them out and the place is now Yuppie Hell. They've done away with the midweek and most other discounts.

Darn. It is a shame when that happens. Gotta find a mountain with good management. My friend worked at Crystal last year though and he loved the area

Only covered the basics for you guys in this video. There are a lot more safety things that we do, but for video length I kept the content to the basics of lift operations. Enjoy!

Haha just found this video, I was a 5 day for green acres back in the 02-03 season they definitely upgraded the electrical system on Pitchfork since then. I left Copper in 2012 at which time I was the flat side lift supervisor so I had 0-1,I,K,L,RR,GL and UC (now woodward exp) crews under my direction. Alpine lift was installed the same year but Pitchfork is made from an old A basin lift so it would be technically older, Gem is the oldest original to Copper mountain lift.

No need to stress. As long as you are able to remember a few key rules you will be fine. There should be a crew leader at your lift to guide you through the more intricate stuff of the job on a daily basis. Have fun out there!

@davidantonino7646

Copper has employee housing at The Edge. That will be the cheapest option. After that people tend to rent an apartment in Leadville. If you want something nicer than that try Frisco or Silverthorne (those last two towns will by far be the most expensive though). Hope this helps!
