How do you feel about Mark Rippetoe advising to do low rep/high set chin ups to heal the tendon? Just found a video of him saying that last night. I was afraid to try it because I've had golfers elbow in both elbows for about 3 months but nothing has seemed to helped so I figured I'd give it a try. I tried it today (after using SquatUniversity's shoulder warm up) and decided to play it safe and use a red band to make sure I had picture perfect chin up form for 10 sets of 3 reps with plenty of rest in between sets. I didn't experience any pain or discomfort whatsoever. Protocol is to not do them again for another 5 days then increase the volume to 12 sets of 3 reps. We'll see how it goes because at this point I'll try anything.

Get BPC157 from biov8. You have to inject it subcutaneously into each elbow. It will heal the tendon really fast and like my shoulder it mightl be stronger than originally. I had a sore shoulder for 9years. This fixed in a couple weeks. I have golfers elbows from chinups too. I just started BPC157 3 days ago for it. Here's hoping.

I'm a chiropractor. Trying to heal a torn tendon with bodyweight exercise is ridiculous. Very light stretching after the first week of injections maybe. Just give it a chance to heal. You wont die if you rest a torn tendon for 3-4weeks. I know its frustrating. Its killing me too, but otherwise you just risk it never getting better. Rest, heal and learn from it. You'll be ok.

@@aussiechiro yeah idk man. I started doing pull ups again because it wasn't getting better with rest. The tendon needs to be stretched. I didn't just jump back into pull ups though. I made sure to loosen my pecs, lats and subscap to help with my rounded shoulders and have been practicing getting into external rotation everyday. I did 3 sets of 5 pull ups on gymnastics rings and my elbows actually feel better for the first time in months. Mr. Physio has a very detailed video about why old school way of treating tendonosis is outdated and incorrect. Because the simple truth is that we still don't know exactly how to treat tendons. P. S. a tear is completely different than tendonosis. It just comes down to weak muscles compensating for inactive muscles which puts the tendon under a compromised load. Elbow pain is merely a symptom of something bigger happening. My case was poor shoulder mobility and weak lower traps.

How to diagnose whether it's a problem at the shoulder or wrist?
@epic_coaching

9/10 I have found it to be a shoulder/scap issues as opposed to a wrist issue - through more assessment you will be able to determine.

So, in your opinion, does forearm flexor strength/extensor weakness play a role in flexor tendinitis or epichondylitis?
@mura0
3 жыл бұрын
from what I have gathered and experience with myself, yes. The cause is the shoulder/scapula weakness and lack of mobility and the bottom part of the chain which is the flexors and extensors.
