this is a variant of the classic Barlow's wheel. But I am thinking of a practical application. You can use this in a gas centrifuge. You need to have a thermal gradient built in and put several of them in series.

Very clever and I think I understand the principle, given it runs better at high frequency have you considered running it as a resonance motor (put a suitable capacitor in series with the windings to create a resonance series LC circuit) this should significantly reduce your power requirement by effectively increasing the Q of your motor, you might have something hear, high frequency AC motors can be very efficient, give it a go, you need a capacitor with minimal series resistance and series inductance.
