I mean you can certainly generate power in a short hook if you try to hit a pad with good technique and put your body in it. Impressive thing about Pereira is he is able to stick to his technique in these close exchanges. Most people start bopping their heads and flailing their arms trying not to get knocked out. He is so calm in there. Even elite guys like poirier, Izzy, gaethje start looping and moving their head around too much. Poirier has been better nowadays but uses hand blocks too much and depends on volume. There is really no one more dangerous than Pereira. Which allowed Alex to just keep elbowing him , and he went limp for a few seconds there which is what I think the Ref saw which is why he jumped in. "is broken" is this new fad where people don't have anything to say so they just call things broken.

If Mortal Kombat was real and earth needed a champion, I'm voting for Poatan.

Given his frame. Alex actually has a chance to go to heavyweight for 3 tiles…. Eventually

One of the best cards of the year. LHW is in truly terrible shape but man Alex is such a star

The crazy thing is, he genuinely coud be heavyweight champion eventually as well with that power. He already walks around and trains at 230 and is legit 6'4. Not that crazy to think

Let’s be real Gane, Aspinall, Jones would absolutely butcher Alex

@bleachroxmysox22 the only one who I think would butcher him is jon jones, I think the other 2 would try to stand with him and it would be competitive on the feet

@@Childofbhaal Not sure about Gane. That's the most stylistically favorable match-up for Alex at HW.

I think the stoppage was early. It may not have made a difference in the ending, but I do think it was early.

He's call out it's not bizarre, he is 37 and there's no other draw on the division, he is just looking to make the most amount of money in the last 2-3 years of his career

If you guys pay attention right after jiri got dropped & tried to get up look at his hands, they were in back of pereiras legs & they were just hanging. He wasn’t moving them. He was out for those few seconds. It was the right stoppage.

I personally think a good challenge for bsd would be against fiziev. Now granted fiziev is injured and is most likely gonna be out for another 4-8 months but I feel that style match up will fit so well. Two young and up and coming stars who can catapult their names with this win

I’m hearing people say he should have taken just a few more punches but a few more punches could screw him up, he’s dropped, hurt and mounted. Not gonna get much better a couple punches later
