Nice work in such small conditions. It really is all about getting in rhythm with the swell and understanding when to drop the hammer.

Thanks Mark, that makes sense. It also helps to have a low risk run you can test gear on 🤙

Thinking about getting the 899 for downwind. I’m lightweight at 66kg, would you give this a thumbs up or do you think the 999 is a better go for downwind?

The 899 is my favourite by far! Once it's up flying it's so much more fun than the 999. At your weight the 899 could be your everyday DW foil, whereas it's 999 for me.

New Board looks sharp! Do you think this would've been possible on your wider shapes?

Thanks Dave! I'm loving the board. I call this my race board. It definitely gets on foil easier, whereas the shorter, wider shape is more suited to cruising or doing turns with bigger foils or stronger conditions. I have also improved. Can't see a reason why I would go back to 23" wide again!

Nice work! Looks pretty glassy, how much wind do you estimate?

Hi Jeff, impressive ton fly with a 899! How wide /long is your board? I have 6,8x22. I think it’s to wide and short 😥

Thanks Julien! Board is 7'8 X 19"1/4. One year ago your board would have been considered very long and narrow, and guys were doing it. There's so much to it, your size, skill, conditions... Keep pushing and enjoy the small victories
