I LOVE this video!!! Fantastic explanations and techniques... I have to dive deeper into Bullet. What was alsi funny as hell.... “...the de-compose....de-compression or whatever...”....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hope you all are doing well and are healthy! Best wishes

Thanks for all the work and the excellent presentation! Smart problem solving too. As a question (because I don't know) I wonder if turning up the "glue strength" and "break angle" settings could help with your ball through the house frame example? I may need to experiment with that now. Thanks again for all.

Your welcome SKD!! The best thing to do is experiment and see what happens...try it with simple objects to speed up calculation time.

when i play with bullet i seem to get the same results, a ball just touches an object and it bursts into pieces, how do we get objects to retain thier shape? glue helps, but still i'm getting that chain reaction look too.

Nice share Ivan, might come in handy for wood cracking:) And for Scott, you can also start simulation on the object by setting it to activate by last key. I Have also put a simple thread..and some images on how to match collision impact region ..so you sort of set up where the collision will be in layout, and save out the scene and load back to modeler to make the fracture based on that impact regions rather than just fracture the whole object or manually guessing where the impact will be..so you can get more detailed fractures at impact region. Thanks Michael!! I'll take a look at that. Im working on a tute showing how to use gradients with bullet...the results look great...should be up sometime today.

Great stuff.. I had that same sort of problem like your ball and everything would collapse before it got there now I know I am not the only one.. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to fix it..

Thanks Scott, It shouldn't collapse before there is contact, but the whole object will collapse as soon as it is hit..You might also need to make the object "start sleeping" that way it doesn't fall under its own weight until its hit, you can also use weight maps to control whats effected...I might do a follow up tute with the weight map stuff.
