Thanks Lee, will bear that in mind. My first attempt at blending in and getting a feel for it, will get a lot more shrubbery on there next time.👍

Cool shelter Mark, I'll have to try it out some time 🤘"Have a line the length of the diagonals to tie them together" perfect! I've been keeping an eye out for a deal on a durable bivy -- I'm curious about your thoughts on Snugpak's offering

Thanks Radar, will have to do a review of it once I have used it a bit more. Used my old British army bivy bag a lot , but the snugpak one is a new addition. Really like having a zip to help getting into it, and seems very durable considering how light it is. Also packs pretty small as you can see. The hood cinches down around the head for colder weather but no mesh to completely seal yourself up from the blood suckers, like some of the specialized lightweight bivy`s have, but you have to pay a fair bit more for them.

this video would be interesting for you. kzitem.info/news/bejne/s5Wr4GRnj4GbnX4 and give you some ideas of what is possible. I will be using the top quilt in this linked video with a bivy bag this winter, and carry extra clothing to wear on colder nights. Do not own any down sleeping bags though so can not really comment on them. Around 3min 25 sec in should interest you👍

Is an axe too heavy to carry around ?

No, if you need one carry one. On this camp though, was using a small stove so no need to chop wood, and was on a flint knapping course during the day, so no time to do any carving either.👍
