Cherubim Young Musician Liliia Konstantinova performs Sonatina 6 in D minor by François-Joseph Naderman 1781-1835 - Allegro Disperato, Rondoletto. Recorded at a Savile Club Aperitif Concert on Fri 3 May. Liliia is the awardee of Cherubim's 'XXth Anniversary' Salvi, but she performs here on the unique 'royal ebony' Salvi, hand-crafted for her teacher Professor Gabriella Dall’Olio.
FJ Naderman was the son of famous harp maker Jean Henri Naderman (of German origin, he moved to Paris where he became famous for making harps for Queen Antoinette and her master teacher Krumpholtz). He became known as a virtuoso of the single action harp, and the first harp professor at the Paris Conservatoire. Naderman wrote for solo and harp duo, but also for other instruments. The seven progressive sonatas are a staple repertoire in the development of the harp technique and musicianship, and are a companion of all harp students along their journeys. While they are often approached to develop a strong technique and pulse as well as good phrasing and a sense of style, these sonatas, written by a contemporary of Mozart and Haydn, who lived and worked in Paris for most of his life, are true gems of the classical repertoire and are work, musically, at least as much as the works of their more famous contemporary composers.
Cherubim Music Trust is a charity that loans professional-calibre orchestral instruments to advanced music students in the UK, aged 15-25, who cannot afford one that matches their ability. See cherubimtrust.org/
