In the nights between 20 and 22 March 2019, the new traction current system was tested between Næstved Nord and Køge. The tests were carried out by DSB EA 3020 + B7762 + ME 1517.
The entire stretch between Næstved and Køge Nord will be served by electric trains in a few years. It will be, among other things, DSB's new Vectron locomotives, which will pull the current double-decker wagons in a completely new train system 2 times an hour between Nivå and Næstved via the new track over Køge Nord. The second part of Lille Syd between Roskilde and Køge will be taken over by Lokaltog at the end of 2020, which will run half-hourly during the day from Roskilde to Hårlev, where the trains are assembled and shared to/from Rødvig and Faxe Ladeplads.
Banedanmark's electrification program began on the Lunderskov to Esbjerg section, which was put into use in August 2017, then the new line between Copenhagen and Ringsted received running current, and now also between Køge Nord and Næstved, which has now been tested and approved. However, we are just missing Næstved station itself. This is followed by the lines Roskilde to Kalundborg, Ringsted to Nykøbing Falster and Fredercia to Aalborg. The schedule itself has slipped a bit, so we have to wait patiently and see what happens.
