Watching this now for the first time...missing my dear friend, Bryan Dilworth (1968-2020), manning the bass during this era. It was such a pleasure to play these songs and look over at Bryan and see him enjoying the shit out of himself. He made an indelible impact on me. I will never forget. Thanks for posting this.

It's pretty cool that you can hear echos of other, future Lilys songs in some of these unreleased tracks. There's a guitar part in the sixth song here that sounds like the precursor to Nanny in Manhattan.

i haven't watched this in a while but i do remember being unfamiliar with a few tunes, which i presume were unreleased...which for me made this performance that much sweeter

I saw this lineup at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, I would guess around the same timeframe.

Kurt: Brian Wilson Brian Dilworth: Rickenboise bass Art DiFuria: sensitive, insular anti-guitar Dave Frank: drums, pawn shops This is the last vestige of 'The Philly Lilys'. (Archie Moore had already departed.) The show is from less then one month after Eccsame was recorded (08/1994). In approximately one year, Kurt would move from Philly to Boston and assemble the band that would cut Better Can't Make Your Life Better. Mort Aux Vaches

"sensitive, insular anti-guitar." This sums up my contributions pretty well, I think. Thank you!

@@greyculture9112 Thanks! We *did* record some of those songs, at Studio Red in Philadelphia. I just don't know where the tapes are. I also don't know how "finished" they are, or even if they have vocals. I doubt they're destroyed, however. It's a matter of finding them, finishing them, and mixing them. I leave that to their creator, the one and only Kurt Heasley. We spoke on the phone not too long ago, but we didn't bring this subject up. We were talking about the UFOs, bringin' the love, and other such...but finding those tapes is a worthwhile project. We should try!

It's definitely a lost period. This lineup did some recording, but it was not enough and none of it never came out. These were some good songs.

Wow, this is awesome. Before they screwed up the entire band by going all weird surf rock. TONE BENDER!
