Nice! I too hear the clunk. Add the straps to the list! We put them on my friends x3, and disconnected his sway bar to allow max articulation, and made a significant difference on rock climbs

I'm having a hard time finding those steel bushings. Do you remember what they are called and where you bought them?

If the sway bar is attached there is no reason to add limit straps, the sway bar won't allow the shocks to overextend. If you remove the sway bar then absolutely get limit straps to avoid damaging the shock.

You are correct. It should not be a problem. I have shock therapy springs and my ride hight is up for clearance. The front was much more of a problem. Rear wasn't bad just in some circumstances did I get thunk on the back.

@@theeverydayguy8167 Interesting, I have a Sport Max on 33's with factory springs at 17" of ground clearance and I haven't noticed a clunk in the rear. I have the front sway bar removed and have heard the shocks making noise. I have limit straps but haven't installed them yet.

I never checked. But I know when the drive shaft is at a steep angles it puts a lot of stress on the CV joints. Plus it keeps you shocks from bottoming out. The sway bar should stop that most of the time

Why didn't you simply back off on the spring pre-load to get the straps on?

I could have. It takes a bit of time plus I have to get it back with the strap in the way. The nut dose not spin down with out a spring compressor.

Just the straps. Found the rest at local hardware store.

Put them on the front, and disconnected the front sway bar. Probably one of the better mods I did. These are limited on suspension compared to other machines, and every little bit helps. Great video, really glad I did the front.

Looks to me like the rear straps are way to short, when you jack the tires off the ground the strap should only be an 1" shorter than extended length, your looks like 2 or even 3" shorter.

Yes I was thinking that. The strap was a it short also I figured it would stretch a bit once installed. My ride hight is a bit on the high side also.
