NOT being willing to compromise is a really good reason to NOT get married. Marriage is based on compromise, give and take and feeling the well-being of another person is the most important thing in your life. Apparently, she never felt this way about anybody she ever supposedly loved(?).

Some excellent singers and songwriters don't "need" to compromise; they're whole world is all in their heads and coming out in song , but one could not really state that she didn't "need" the backing of helpful others, who were also excellent at their crafts ? Totally agree, and it's much more difficult to sing with two other totally different voices LIVE, as it is to sing just overdubbing ones own solos, too: Those were ALL exquisitely performed. AGAIN, extremely well done and quite eloquently stated. Thanks for that. Linda Ronstadt was according to some of 'MY "personal musically well endowed friends, "just too darned independent!" I say "absolutely nothing wrong with that" except, that it IS nice to be able to share ones life with another whom also, is "as " talented, and extremely "independent." PERHAPS , Linda had an emotional "fear" that what she had going for herself, might have influenced her in a way that might have "encouraged" her to marry; And as many of us ladies know, being married DOES allow being influenced. To each his own; Seems her emotional and professional dreams were already fulfilled! !I'd wager to bet that NOBODY will ever be able to TOP Linda's "Blue Bayou." EVER! "You're the Reason I'm Not Married" written by another female who just never took the TIME to bother with more than two marriages ? Ha. WISH LINDA COULD SING IT... Dream On, right ?

I relate to the song Long, Long Time. As it was written about how you can fall in deep love with someone else and really, truly care about that person, and that person does absolutely NOTHING at all but make a fool out of you as a broad from East Palestine, Ohio did to me. She ran off and married an old man of the age of 70 back in 05 when she was 48 years of age, he 70 years of age 22 years older than herself. The reason. MONEY. He was a rich old doctor with tons of cash to stash, which proves my theory about women. If you've got the money, you get the honey. No money. No honey. Women are ALL gold diggers.

I've had a secret romance with Linda since the 1970's. So secret she didn't even know about it.😀. There's no music genre she's performed that I didn't like, but by far my favorites were the Trio albums she did with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, and the Spanish language mariachi albums Canciones di mi Padre, and Mas Canciones. Those, I felt were her best platforms to show her incredible vocal range. I'm sad that powerful voice is no longer heard, she was (and is) one of a kind.

Hence the imperative for immigration. Not an issue when implemented slowly and in proportion with the divergence of the culture being integrated.
