Great gordie band. I worked up there in the late eighties. Fucking loved Newcastle, and I worked all over Britain, best people, reminded me of being home in Ireland 🇮🇪.

I lived near marty and his music is great too ? lindisfarne are great and i,m scots and used to drink with pete agnew who formed nazareth so love music from that era ? I,d love shields to have a 70 festival during a summer ( when we get one ) with lindisfarne /nazareth etc

Just a wonderful group and lots of memories for me. I have played this song in my last band years ago and in my current one and the audiences love it!! One of my first 8-track cassettes was "Fog on the Tyne" .....played in my Ford Cortina Mk2!!!!

Takes you back to an innocence that never truly existed, but was good on paper. Gentle poetry sung with a smile on their face. You must have a heart of flint not to smile listening to a song like this. Good luck Ms O'Reilly x

Billy did a great job of heading up Lindisfarne after Alan Hull died. A great talent in his own right. This was a very good Lindisfarne line up and soon decided to call it a day after this. Music to be loved for all time.

I saw Lindisfarne live once in Windsor. But they have never recovered from the death of Alan Hull.

Lovely. The singing blend is super. The only thing I missed a little was the bass, whose heavy plodding beat was such an atmospheric element in the original. It's there, but doesn't stick out in the mix as it might.

Totally agree. I noticed it pretty soon, too... along with the wonderful overall quality here and with such a superb song. I bought their first album way back when, and even though I was (still am) a guitarist, I alway played "air bass" to this one.

In Edinburgh the “corner” was the Binns clock at the west end. A favourite meetings place for first dates. On the hour and half hour were the main times. By quarter past and quarter to those stood up would then hook up anyway. Probably all urban myth. Those were the days.

these are cool tho like: did i miss them somehow during the 70s 80s? God speed anyway ps this is REALLY hard music... The timing, the instrumentalsim and even the lyrics are toungue twisting at times.. this band, despite looking like MASSIVE MASSIVE hippies back in the 70's... is a highly taught set up exeleent music Gs
