I’m pretty sure you could use the left & right ins/outs. Just hard pan the 2 paths in the stomp at the split & merge blocks. So pan path A 100% left and path B 100% right. But the only benefit (over how you do it now) is it would free up the stomp fx loop if you need it…

Steve Really clever / efficient routing - rig! A mate here does something very similar but instead of the Nobels he uses an HX One in front as he said he saw a bunch of Nashville Players still using the old Line6 M5 single pedal but as he likes the Polyphonic Drop style stuff uses the HX one, I've sent him your vid as he'd be interested in the wireless side of things and he said he'll subscribe \m/ Awesome vid

Great board setup Steve! I have downsized with my HX Stomp. I have a couple external pedals. A Ptichfork and a Cloudburst for ambient stuff. I recently added the ToneX 1. It took me quite awhile to find amp captures that worked for me. However the two I found are really good. A 65 Fender Deluxe Reverb and an AC30. These two amp captures give me enough options depending on the FOH system. Working great thus far.

nice work on the board. I'm especially looking at that hinged plateau. quick thought: use a longer cable on the larger Shure unit and let it run around the 'hinge side', so you won't need to unplug the cable if you open the 'hatch'?

16:40 what you can do is to split Y and pan hard left & right on the input, it becomes a completely separate chain after the split. same goes for the output, u will need to pan em on the output block. that's what I did when friends came over and wanna jam.
@SteveSterlacci

Yeah I know you can, but the panning is just annoying. Splitting it off visually makes me more comfortable 🤷♂️

I have a similar setup with two instrument paths in the HX Stomp. I wish it could separate the mono inputs without the split as well, I always have to utilize a volume/pan effect block in the already limited effect space of the Stomp.

Steve, I am doing the same thing with the HX Stomp and Tonex One. Presets in the Stomp with no amp block. No midi switching on the TNXO, so it forces you to majorly simplify the Stomp presets…

Stop XL don’t have a symmetric jack output? If I recall correctly the normal one have one. So you can use TRS to XLR adapter with allow you to remove a DI box.
@SteveSterlacci
Ай бұрын
Yes you can, but I choose to not do this. I don't like the concept of adapters and loose wires on the board. I want it to be bulletproof and not have a stressed engineer not understand whats going on or have to frantically plug in a cable and bend a jack. It just puts me more at ease this way as its more "professional" seeming (to those that arent familiar with HX)

@@SteveSterlaccinice setup there Steve! And you know what? I JUST got a Tonex One and also an MXR Joshua. I experimented with the Joshua after the Tonex. I dialed in I believe a nice Mesa Clean and the Maz18 with some dirt (responds well to volume control) for the presets. I found the delays mushy after the amp and cab with that pedal. Curiously I had an ODR1 mini to try in front of the Tonex and it really worked great! I just tonight tried the Joshua in the FX loop of my Synergy with the Z Wreck module and there it sounded the way I wanted it to. So I agree that sometimes it is better to have delays ahead of the amp - maybe the more digital ones anyway. I’ll have to try the Joshua before the Tonex as well. So cool how much sound you can get out of a small rig these days!

I use low output PAF style pickups. So normally, there is minimal tweaking of gain if any at all. I basically judge if the "clean" sound is passed the edge of breakup, then I gain down or up

Hi Steve; thanks! Helix floor user here--yes, too big for traveling rigs. Wondering though 'bout your thoughts of pairing units, e.g. two HX Stomp XL's, two Neural DSPs, etc. to hit min DSP resources for your setlists? Thank-you Steve--BTW, your Knaggs sounds and looks Knagg-a-licious! Hey Internet: get SS over 100k subs please! P.S.
