Very good information and showing exactly how to install. I'm getting ready to install and there's just a lot of things I didn't know about that I was getting myself into line set covers, drain attachments and all that good stuff so I've been searching for videos on how to install to multi-zones and this video really did it for me. thanks for making it

I Would think running the condensate line on that level horizontal run might freeze in winter if you don’t angle it down slightly?
@TheDIYCabinGuy

I believe that condensate only occurs when running the units in ac mode so in the summer.

Great look for the covers. Did you also install the Gree ductless by yourself? I'm also going to order the Cover Guard linesets that you used. I like how they can adjust how thick the pipes it will cover.

Thanks! Yes I did the whole install myself for the gree system, I just got a pro to do the final hookup, pull a vaccum and get the system running. Yes I got some cheap amazon covers initially, it would have been impossible to fit more than one zone in those!

Is there a reason the lineset aren't run along the bottom of the siding so it stays away from the window? And why do the other two not just go straight down? Just curious if there was a special reason.
@TheDIYCabinGuy
Жыл бұрын
It was mostly because the copper lines start to move away from the wall towards the outdoor unit so I couldn’t contain them with Lineset at that point.

One question would it have been easier and cleaner if you installed the back end of the line set cover before running the line sets? Also how did you handle the condensation lines ?
@TheDIYCabinGuy
3 жыл бұрын
Axel, that’s a great point. Yes I do think that installing the back end before running the lines would be a better idea and make for an easier and cleaner install. In my case, at the time I installed the lines, I just had some cheap line set I had gotten from amazon and realize they were way too small and returned them. It took me a while to find those specific line set covers and order them. The condensation lines are also running next to the line set and end somewhere along the side of the house.

For your application, you'd have to modify the hole (or gutter piece) to accept the 90 degree gutter flex/elbow. Might not be worth the effort.

Foam stops nothing, not rats or squirrels, and not insects. Use DUCTSEAL. at all breakthroughs. Also, installation is normal above the window not below it. ALWAYS work from the bottom UP. Think about it. Water moves DOWN. Also you have to SEAL the entrance area of the insets with ductal as well. Foam is ok but ductal works a LOT better.
@TheDIYCabinGuy

Thanks! Will use duct seal for the next install
