This right here are the 2 types of people I fear working with in this trade, the one guy who probably isn’t that knowledgeable and lies about what they know, (sounds like that’s the guy on the pole). And the even more dangerous guy who sees that you’re about to do something stupid/unsafe and instead of stepping in and saving someone from injury or even death decides to wait for you to mess up, then rub it in your face. This type of person lives for other peoples mistakes, makes them feel better about themselves. These two type of people get other guys KILLED, and I try to stay FAR away from them on any job site.

This is one of the easiest jobs you would do. Switching out transformers with plenty space. If he can’t do this, he MOST DEFINITELY LIED about his experience. He signals like there is an operator to lower the transformer but I don’t see any slog or rope above the transformer. I can’t even imagine how an experienced lineman would end up w TRANSFORMERS TOUCHING! This is worse than it looks really.

Sounds like the ones who were taking down a unused transformer on my Great Aunt's property where I grew up. I don't know why the transformer was even there there wasn't a building or anything near it. It had been there for as long as I could remember and the power company came to take it down and managed to drop it Was at school but my mom was home she said it made a loud boom when it fell

Certainly isn’t. We used a sling to get it down once we broke the bolts. I’m not sure how much could’ve changed since I was put on medical disability back on January 10, 2016.

Had a dude film me on a 45' transfer.... Took a slacky up with me. Well the 45 was too heavy for the slacky... While I struggled and asked for another rope. He says learn how to use the one I got!!!!! Looked over my shoulder.. this dude Mike was filming my demise... Pissed me off so bad . I wrapped the rope around a bolt came around to the front with a hat hitch. Unbelted took three jump cuts was on the ground swinging my belt strap chasing this moron. LMAO. He ran to the truck and called the boss... What's funny is he showed everyone my mess up. But all's anyone seen was me clearing a descent with three jumps. And watching him run from me. Personally, Im not aware of the SOP for lowering a transformer to the ground but I can assure you that, the man on that pole deserves every single penny that is paid to him. EVERY SINGLE PENNY....
