Jerry I just subscribed to your channel for what you just said about these guys.i never met them and damn it I wished I could have.freebird is my all time favorite song.this was the first song I learned how to play on guitar.it has so much meaning to it.from how Lynyrd Skynyrd always sounded with their words and such you know there's no doubt that they would have loved this rendition and if they would have been in the audience they would have been standing up and then shaking their hands.love Skynyrd and love these guys also.would love to see both these groups in concert yet.I'm just glad that Johnny was able to get the old band back together also

I have been a musician for 60 years. The first rule of covering a song someone else recorded first is to make it your own. Hardly ever can you do a song that someone else has recorded and do it the same way and get away with it. You are always compared to the original recording. They did exactly what they needed to do. They made the song theirs. A song that is a classic can't be duplicated, just imitated. You have to change it around.

As a 49 year old southern white guy......all I have to say is wow. It was so beautiful. In today's world where racial tensions seem at a all time high. These gentlemen give me hope for a better tomorrow. That through the universal culture of music that we all might find common ground and realize that there is only ONE RACE.....the human race. Any differences between us are superficial and that on the inside we are all brothers and sisters.

Man the Miami Vice Soundtrack....if there ever was a tune that defines the 80's that is it. I also can't think of a show that was so over with people than Miami Vice. I remember people wouldn't go out and hit the clubs till AFTER Miami Vice. Pantera.....something about their riffs....especially in the album Vulgar Display of Power it just taps into my Adrenalin gland and gives me energy. Megadeath.....Peace Sells....but who's buying!!!!!!! Depeche Mode....I love 80's electronica......funny when I was a teenager in the 80's it was not my kind of music but now that I am older I really love retro 80's music. I am going to have to look up some of these other people on the list to see what they are about heheheh

I am currently a huge fan of The Black Label Society.....I like a small band called Hanzel und Gretyl their new stuff sucks......they seem to reinvent themselves every few years. They started off as techno....than they went into German hard core metal which I liked...I have no idea what they were saying but the power and energy in the music is a instant high. They have gone into satanist music so I stopped listening to them but they used to be awesome lol. It's funny I used to like rap back in the 80's when the artists were actually talented. I think NWA and 2 live crew killed rap and now everyone seems to be a pale imitation of these original pioneers. I will admit it there was some disco I liked, R&B....basically if it has a good beat, sampling, hook it does not matter what catagory of music it comes from I will listen to it.

Thank you air, and I love you too my brother....with the start of a new year coming let us pray to the creator that we may all soften our hearts and open our eyes. That we may realize that skin color means nothing and it is what is in your heart that is important. Let us all realize that hate is the enemy not each other and that by hating one another for something as stupid as the color of our skin, we are only hating ourselves.

I'm an old hippie and a HUGE Lynyrd Skynard fan, but I must say these guys took his song to a new place; they brought its message into today's world for today's young folk. And I bet that Lynyrd is sitting up on "high" with a doobie in one hand and a beer in the other just groovin' on this! It's very hard to take old rock and roll and change it, this is only the 2nd time I've seen one that was well done and that I like (the other was Disturbed and Sounds of Silence); and to change it into a blues version is an absolutely stunning piece of work. Well done guys, well done. Peace out!

In line with the "season" of buying crap..... Today's MUSIC buyers don't know what REAL MUSIC is........ MUSIC to them is like a Black Friday sale.....they'll go out to be First to get the latest (auto tuned) crap being sold.....only to push that aside for the latest Cyber Monday (auto tuned) crappy deals...... Like you, I would LOVE for REAL TALENT to make a comeback........but that will be hard when the "Music" industry is pushing AUTO-TUNED "singers" who couldn't sing LIVE to save their life...but they do LOOK GOOD....in commercials!

Lynyrd Skynyrd basically used this song as an excuse to play an extended instrumental, so the singer could take a break for a while. But these guys really made it all about the singing, and they are just the right people to make the lyrics the focal point of the song, because the whole reason they are singing is to become free from everything their life has dealt them.

Linkin Bridge… I just got to hear and see you all for the first time on You Tube....You are all excellent.... You brought this song to such beauty, real meaning and feelings. Are you all still singing together....any cds...or etc....I am hoping so.....For the one singer that said he was in foster care and etc... My heart goes to you... I worked all my life.... working with physcically challenged adults....full time..... later in life.. me and my husband that passed we worked with boys town....fostering theruputic older children in our home.....to get them ready to be adopted or reunited with their family again..... .I had two older sons already grown married......and we believed music and was proven......music was the answer to most of them.....We did all our downstairs , music room, games, and etc... never to be just put in a room.....Finally we adopted our son...…..he had some real needs.... so we did foster care after just part time.... watching other children for foster parents... so we could get all his needs......met... Music was the answer, his dog, pool, and us and family of course was a gift of life to him.... but when things were rough for him... he went to that music room , instruments, microphones, and he really blossomed.. he never did it as a career or etc... as you did and all.... and you are four gifts to the music industry after you all went thru.... God Bless you all...….hoping to hear from you all or someone here if Linkin Bridge Is still performing or any music they have recorded that can be purchased...

Good lord they put the emotion in that song like Ronnie Van Zant never did. I'm a white southern man and these men did an outstanding job.

Angels come in different packages, but you can always tell when they appear. Their voices always rain down from heaven.
