Beautiful cat. Gets out and sits to see the environment, inevitably taking the time to go on a hunt and return for the night (or day).

A lion ? or a lynx ? . where’s its tail ? < the first couple of minutes . Obviously, then we see the lion.

Yes, a bobcat is cautiously investigating the scene at first - you can tell it's on high alert! In the lion hollow compilation video you can see a number of different individuals and species that come by the same log as well (over the period of a few months).

Even that big cat knew he was being surveilled 365/24/7. Didn't seem to stoked about it either. Beautiful.

She was definitely curious about the trail camera, but mountain lions don't seem to mind them. And we're grateful they have refuges like this log to hide out and rest in! We don't share locations like this (not even among staff), so we do our best to make sure they get to keep these private spaces.

@@SwanValleyConnectionsCondon that's wonderful to know. I've seen them up close recently, in a neighbor's yard. It was actually a double sighting. When we stopped our car to watch, the cougar loped into an approximately 20ft row of overgrown juniper bushes. As it ran in, a bobcat ran out the other end & to a spot across the road to keep an eye on it. The bobcats in the area like to use brush piles on rural properties to den in, and there was one close by. I got out a measuring tape just now. My estimate is that the cougar I saw was about 30+ inches at the shoulder, almost 5 ft long, with a tail that was easily 4+ft. Couldn't sex it, but it was sure gorgeous! And it appeared to be well fed, and in great shape. There's quite a few of both kinds of cats in rural Oregon, and a lot of prey for them.

@@GuantanamoBayBarbie2 Wow! Just seeing this now, Barbara, but what an amazing sight. Those measurements sound about right. Interesting to think about how many lions we have around even here, and how rarely we see them. Cats are the masters of stealth.
