Great informative video. My grandfather ran both the K4 and later the GG1. I had a log book of his that has since been "lost" in the family. So I hesitate to say this, but it is true-my grandfather had logged that he was running 4876 in December of 1952. This was the one that crashed in Union Station Washington DC in January 1953. Close call for him....LOL

Very nice Nick. That sound it makes, is the same as what my old friends Triang does, it's more to do with the motor than anything, and nothing we can do with it. It does sound like she was made at the same period as the real one. Love the music you chose for this too.

What a beautiful set overall. Yes, it would have been nice for it to have either TMCC or even Legacy, and all of the bells and whistles that go with it, but to see it in operation running around your layout is really what matters most. It looks very nice with the lights dimmed down. Great review.

@@NixCrossing The Lionel Century Club has a GG1 with TMCC. It’s a beautiful locomotive. I actually have it myself, and it is one of most favorite locomotives. I highly recommend you search for one of these. It also uses the original GG1 number 2332.

Hey Nick. Great video review of your set. The GG-1 is an awesome engine! I have several in my fleet. I have a set from 2008 that is a recreation of a Postwar set. It has a Brunswick Green GG-1 #2332 with three Madison cars. Its awesome! However it would have been nice if it had also TMCC. Oh well you can not have everything I guess!
