Great looking train. I love the glowing fire pan. Very fun. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Definitely a nice locomotive. I hope Lionel re-issues it. The ash pan glow is one of my favorite Lionel features.

Thanks Laz! I love my S-2 . It is just a beast and operates great. I'm so glad I found one at the Warehouse sale. After the disappointment of not getting one when released it was a nice surprise.

Very nice locomotive Marty! The single rod on the drivers reminds me of James and Edward from Thomas 👍 - Ryan

I think the Turbine is a true classic. Whether Scale or not it's a really cool engine.

Cool video! I particularly enjoyed the multiple angles you set the camera at as it looped the layout. I have one of these and the potential for rust due to the Styrofoam improper cure was certainly a bummer. Mine showed no significant issue, aside from possibly very minor evidence on a single screw under the chassis, so I kept it as I had wanted one of these for a very long time. To this day I've never put it back in the box though, feeling a bit nervous wondering if something could still happen due to the Styrofoam. One minor comment on the historical info: The 1991 version (6-18010) wasn't TMCC equipped, as TMCC wasn't out until a few years after that (~ 1996 IIRC for the first few TMCC engines). There was however another Scale Turbine offered in 2001 Volume 2 (6-38028), that version did of course include TMCC. Again, very nice video/review!

Holy cow your right! It was conventional. TMCC was till a few years off! Thanks for keeping me honest. Also thanks for the compliments. I try on my small layout the best I can.

That first scale S-1 TURBINE that LIONEL came out with along with an all brass N-8 CABOOSE back in the early nineties was not a T-M-C-C equipped engine it was a conventional runner - TMCC was not in production at that time!!!!
