All I need for me to understand stuff is diagrams and context. When I'm reading the text from a book it doesn't really make sense to me. I need to know what the thing I'm learning about looks like and how it applies to real life so I can make sense of it. Just telling me that a triglyceride is made of glycerol and fatty acids doesn't help me know what it does and what it looks like. The textbooks are so vague.

Oh my god, finally someone I can relate to. I just recently started studying for my ial biology and as a private student who learns the same way as you, I am so lost as to where I can get that information from. Could you please share some resources with me or let me know how you ended up gripping the concepts?

Hi there I noticed a small mistake around 2:02: Lipids are the one class of large biological molecules that does not include true polymers, yes. But they are generally NOT big enough to be considered macromolecules :) For people intrested; there are 3 macromolecules: Carbohydrates, proteins and nucleic acids.

If they are not macromolecules what are they?

when the fatty acid and glycerol molecule join together to form the triglyceride, why wouldnt the OH join with the singular H? would'nt that make it simpler to form without leaving an oxygen left?

You have to pay £29.95 per course (eg a level chemistry costs £29.95 for year 12 only however you get the everything and subscription lasts for 2 years) so for the whole chemistry course (year 12 and 13) you will have to pay £59.90 as a one off payment and this applies to any other subject hope this helped

Hello Snaprevise! I have some confusion regarding the structure of the lipid that you showed on 1:57 and the structure of the fatty acid that you showed afterwards. I found both of the diagrams to be similar then how are we going to distinguish them? Shouldn't they both have different structures? BTW thanks for the informative video :-)
