Might be a silly question, but why didn't you just take the shade out, turn it upside down and reinstall with the clips? Doesn't seem like you need to remove all those screws and reinstall the entire window upside down. That would also solve the condensation/weep hole issue so many commented about.

I seen this hack awhile ago on another channel. Great Idea for me because when I camp alone I like to shower with the bathroom door open for more room. I can see outside from my bathroom, now that I flipped the thin shade upside down, I can open it half way all day and not worry about it. Great tip.

The only negative is that the moisture drain holes are now at the top allowing moisture to to puddle in the lower window channel. Maybe you could drill a few holes in the bottom channel??
@danclark3144

If you camp in environments where you get a lot of condensation, you could be creating another problem. The weeps that allow the condensation to run out the bottom of the window frame are now on top of your window. This could result in moisture buildup causing mold, mildew, or even damage to the window frame.
@FindUsCamping

@danclark3144

@@FindUsCamping there are weep holes on the bottom of the inside frame. These are little slots that allow moisture that has condensed on the inside of your window to drain out and evaporate or run down the inside of your door. When you flipped your inside frame over to invert the shade so it closes from the bottom, you moved the weeps to the top of your window frame.

We put in the thin shade mostly because our thermostat is located on the wall right across from the door/window. We were in Texas and our door was facing south. On hot sunny days the AC was going on all the time because the sun was beating through the window and right onto the thermostat. I was never too concerned about people getting up on our entry steps and peeping into our camper. We normally walk around fully clothed! 😂😂

When you flipped the inside of the window, you put the weep holes (little slots in the frame) at the top. If condensation forms on the inside of the glass, like it does in cold weather, the moisture drips will have nowhere to go out at the bottom. Maybe it is possible to add some holes or slots at the bottom now to solve the problem . . .?

we have a thin shade but rarely use it because the screen is in the way when the door is closed. Is there an option to replace the screen with one which allows you to raise / lower the shade without completely opening the door? In our case, it just seems like a bad design, to open the door, separate the doors and adjust the shade. Please let me know if there's a screen that is "split" or something, so you can adjust the shade! Thanks in advance!

@@FindUsCamping I just dislike the design of RV doors. After all these years of this style of door there's got to be a better way. I can't believe there is no better design out there. And the screen doors are so flimsy. I feel like taking my screen door off and using something else for the screen but I'm not that creative. There should be some type of access point with these doors that we could get to the window.

I have bought two sets of these shades for my prepped doors and they are junk! The material gets stiff and will not fold when you open them. Worse, they all (I bought 4 total, 2 doors) pulled loose from their mounts and fell. It appears they get too hot and the plastic deforms enough that they let go, and the deformity is permanent. The top and bottom "rails" should have been made of metal or much thicker plastic. I'm out nearly $200 so I'm not trying again.
