Telling you now, its one of the most rewarding feelings on the planet. A deaf girl joined my school and had an interpreter with her for every lesson for the first few days. I was scared of going and talking to her, but the Monday after I sat with her at lunch and asked her how she was. She could still speak to me, I could hear her, but I always replied in sign. The look on her face after I replied was one of the happiest faces I had ever seen. Seriously, go learn it. You'll make someone's day.

They were both beautiful people. Outside and inside. When he took off his jacket, I expected him to show his wrists all scarred and cut. Not what happened. That made him even more different. I'm bullied because I'm poor, because I dress differently from other people, because I'm ugly... Whatever you name it, they claim it. I make it worse by self-harming. But I can't let go. And I refuse to be somebody else just because they don't like who I am.

AndySixxStalker DarkAngels “Because I’m ugly”... Who’s to say that? My guess is it’s really because you are different. So many people fight against being authentic because they are afraid that isn’t what the world needs... but that isn’t true. Despite what the world often says, despite what society or culture or your peers say, your worth cannot and should not be defined by the clothes you wear or the scars you carry. Your worth is more than your looks, it’s more than the music you listen to or the work you put in at the end of the day. It’s more than your weight on a scale, it’s more than your height or your hair, your intellect, your strength or creativity. It’s even more than your dreams. It’s inside of you - designed perfectly and wonderfully. It’s there in the daily encounters you have throughout life, hidden maybe to where you don’t even see. In every place of hurt or brokenness is an opportunity for healing and refining. I realize we may not know each other, but I can promise you that your life is not a burden; and even if some people may try to convince you otherwise, I’m here to tell you that you are here at this time, at this place for a very specific purpose. It’s not about how you belong - you already do. It’s who you belong to. I deeply wish you could see every marvelous thing about you. I deeply wish you would cherish every part of you, no matter how different it may be. People are seeking out perfection every day, but perfection cannot be found in a single person. One thing’s for certain though - beauty comes in the wake of those who love who they are and gather to encourage others in the same way. I didn’t always love myself either. Every day I battle lies that once cut me down when I was young, words that had burnt me and shaped me until I chose to find who I really was instead of listening to the thoughts inside my head. I’m rooting for you, Andy. Don’t lose sight of all that makes you great. No matter how small or seemingly insignificant it may seem now, you will always be able to uncover what distinguishes you and makes you integral to the world :)

This short film makes me cry . No one has the right to deeply hurt and scar a child like that . There's a lot of cold hearted children and adults in this world today. But I believe there's a lot of good people as well . We need to love our children and teach them how to love themselves ❤️💙 and how to protect themselves from bullies. I know as a mother I would stand beside my child or for that matter any child that was being bullied. They are the future and precious gifts from God .

Before you judge...think about how you would feel if you were put into the same situation. Nobody is perfect, everyone has things that are wrong with them, but that's what makes us perfect, that we are all one unique piece of what makes this world & without each one of us, this world would not be as beautiful or complete. NEVER let anyone determine your life for you, YOU are the most precious, special, awesome wonderful part of you & that's what makes you perfect, just the way you are. I loved how the boy as a stranger told her that he cares. There are times when our friends and family can't help and we need to connect to the strangers for that. Sometimes strangers are the people who become our best friends or lovers. So, I feel that it's important for the world to stay kind to the strangers. I am someone who would really need a person like him in my life and I even do my best to connect with people accross even if they are the strangers. But what majority people end up telling me is to focus on only friends and family... I seriously wish instead of telling that, I would have genuinely found a person who cares for me... 🥺

People are bullied because they have an emotional weakness- they see themselves as 'different'. When someone laughs at me, I laugh with him(more often them not) may be even double down on the joke. I refuse to see him as a bully he can't see me as the 'different' anymore....We laugh together and end up as cool buddies....more often them not. Slogans on pink T-shirts are only to bring awareness. You just have to learn how to have a stronger heart and stop feeling so sorry for yourself. It's a subtle but permanent solution. Hope it will help you.

I kept wondering what the difference was. So the camera man did a good job also. Great short you two. Hope you do larger projects as I'm sure you will excel. It was... compelling.

My goodness, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever watched. And I was reading the comments about the metaphor used and I agree that it was the most beautiful metaphor that anyone could have ever used. Thank you for making such a beautiful and powerful short film. God bless you!

Those who are always crying and think that they have a lot of problems in life then think about those people who have many more problems but still they never complain. cherish what you have and be grateful to God for that. Just change the way you look towards the world. It's actually so beautiful.

Does any of those small details really matter? I don't think so. What's important is not how the film was directed, or how good the acting was, or making a flawless one with no mistakes at all. None of that matters. That's not the point. Because the motive of this short film IS what's important. The message it's sending. There's so much meaning behind it and it can save so many people. All those small details doesn't mater at all.

Virak Chhang I think since it's maybe an independent film, the film scene management will be limited, so they missed some details

The existence of Kim Taehyung is illegal istg well i get ur point but when youre making a film, you cant just focus on theme and emotion and neglect good directing and continuity becuz "it doesnt matter." The art of filmmaking is how to use good directing and cinematography to express your theme well. im not saying this film isnt good im just saying those "small details" are important. This film wouldnt have given such a great impact on people if the acting sucked or if the cinematography was bad. 😕

I think we all waited for your return lolol. love your pieces. this one "listen to me" conveys 2 very different type of listening. actual and heartfelt. both great actors with potential. loovee the transitions. needs more color to really pull into her dispair a bit. i felt distant from her yet i wanted to feel her pain as the viewer. i really wanted a deep connection with them. great piece. i wonder of their background and future. will we see a full length?

I came across this movie completely by accident (I would even say by happy accident). It touched me so much! No wonder it was awarded several times and named the best! The story is about a deaf girl suffering from bullying at school. She thinks no one understands her and no one cares about her. She feels like an outcast, like a stranger in this world. This leads her to climb onto the roof to end her life. She can't take it anymore. Then a student worker finds her on the roof to show that nobody's perfect. The actors managed to play their roles so that by the end of the film I started crying. Musical accompaniment also helps to immerse yourself in the atmosphere with your head. I want also acknowledge the work of the camera. Mixing past and present, when the action unfolded in the class, was great! I totally recommend this film to anyone! It is important to distribute such videos all over the Internet in order to significantly reduce, and even better eliminate, bullying in the world.

I absolutely loved this short film! I'm currently learning Chinese because I feel we, the human race, as a species are brutish to others due to a lack of effective communication. The short film truly captures the struggles of those different from ourselves and how if we were take the time to learn each others language we might be able to find a common ground in world where there is no gravity. A world where everyone around us prefers to leave those different than us grounded so the "normal people" may soar into a vast space of ignorance. Thank you so much for exploring this issue!
