Earthworms are vital to the health of soil and farmers are always keen to know just how many they have in their fields. But finding out is a laborious process involving digging holes and counting worms. But now researchers at the University of Warwick have found a much easier way to measure the number of earth worms in a field. No digging, instead they just listen to the earth.
