Simon you are a wonderful person, you are very good, I was really pleased to hear you play Franz Liszt, compositions that of course I know, but your interpretation, an elegant and perfect touch, gave me a moment of abstraction and I thought about beautiful things, in this historical period that creates troubles and worries in us there is a great need for culture, which leads to inner peace. Thank you again. Roberto.

magnificent composition! and very good interpretation, Simon !! Congrats !!! I have a curiosity: why, from time to time, does a white arrow appear on one of the hammers of the piano? 🤔

The arrows show the individual dampers that are 'caught' by the sostenuto pedal. In the Kawai action, the sostenuto mechanism holds the dampers above their normal raised level, so they are quite easy to see. Notice that the pianist can lower all the dampers (with the sustaining pedal) while those dampers held by the sostenuto pedal stay raised, even though the pianist's fingers have long-since left the key. You could compare the effect to a bagpipe's 'drone' or an organ's pedal board. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_pedals#Sostenuto_pedal
