So I am eternally grateful to Michael Landon for realising the great talent of Matthew Laborteaux! Like he knew, Matthew was just too good to pass, he was the heart and spirit of Albert!

Yes, as many people have stated, and I will re-state: For those of us old enough to remember arial antennas, and perhaps six channels from which to chose, one still had to often decide WHICH show to watch in a particular time slot, because they were GOOD! Now with 80+ channels to chose from, you have everything from QVC to JWow & SNooki. Most often I go to You Tube & watch LHOTP, or read a book.

She does look like she is reading from a teleprompter, talk about being natural. She is not speaking naturally at all. With a casting special, I actually want to see the actors from the show talking in an interview about what it was like getting the roles and playing them for the first time, and then the other directors/writers/producers' feelings on each actor and what it was working with them.

Don't know how Yooouung you are, but I'm shy of 52, and loved this show in its first run. (still do) You give me hope that not ALL youth is obsessed with modern crap/technology, but might appreciate eternal values as expressed in LHOTP. I just wish I could turn the clock back ( and not just at daylight savings time!).

@GreatestSingerEver01 I do agree with you in some way. I hate most reality tv. I can't stand all these shows with young people wheather its bipolar dramatic females, or cocky, alpha guys. However I love tv shows like CSI, and Law and Order, and it seems that these tv shows might soon meet its demise by the end of 2012, or 13. Yes Little House On the Prairie was great. It taught us that no one in this world is perfect we are all humans.

I agree with you. It is a morality issue. Who should we blame? We can blame both Hollywood and the viewer. Hollywood has just as much of a responsibility to refrain from the filth they put out to the public, as does the viewer who turns on the TV to absorb the filth. Thank God for people who strive to keep society on a moral pathway. Hollywood is about making that precious dollar. They'll tempt the viewer more & more, like a drug dealer does to an addict, in order to get more money.

I agree that Caroline was the most classy lady ever on TV. She had so much grace and beauty, and even though she was poor, she didn't let that destroy her feminine demeanor.

Please stop blaming Hollywood. That's such a cop out. The reason is because VIEWERS keep watching that "reality" junk, so they keep making it. Simple as that. As long as the ratings show that's what people want to watch, that's what you'll get. So if you want to blame, then blame the VIEWERS. And by the way, I only watch the old shows like LHOTP. But that doesn't change the reality of what today's audiences want. It's just another symptom of how low society is falling.

That's very touching that Michael Landon saw characteristics of himself as a child in Matthew. I agree that they both had sensitivity and maturity at a very young age. It's awesome that he didn't even have to audition for that part.
