After 2 years on the charts, this is the most underrated video on KZitem!

Great no nonsense tutorial. Absolutely true to the original( in spite of that little addition sans second guitar). A favorite of mine for a half century. It's a privilege to have this opportunity to finally learn it. Thank you !

This is really good. Been playing this for 45 years and I'm still learning little nuances on it. One thing on your opening cover, the harmonics at the end - the strums start at the 5th, 7th, 12th, then back to the 7th. Then the final chord is not a slow strum but a slow single pick on each string with harmonics on the 12th of the top three. I know this video is two years old, so you've probably refined it since then but great job on this all around.

Really Great. Duane Alman himself ( Who died sadly at the age of 24) wrote this song! You play it as good as I have ever heard anyone, and it seems even better than I heard Duane Play his own song! Good Job !!!

Thank you very much for this. Very detailed, and counting out those fancy time signature bits they threw in there helps a lot. It is a beautiful tune and you play it beautifully.

Thanks for this. So great. I had a friend who was a roadie for the band in the 1990s so I had some great experiences backstage etc... I only have 2 guitars right now but songs like this one and other tunings for sure make the case for additional guitars so you can just leave them tuned to either open e or the other tuning I use a lot is double dropped d... (Overkill by Men at Work) and Cover me up by Jason Isbell. Beautiful guitar you have by the way.

Ran across this tuning quite by accident while replacing strings once upon a time ago and have left one of my acoustics in 'it' ever since. Just wait till you hear what it can do for your flatpicking sound.

Great lesson as always Dave. Would you have any concerns leaving a guitar in Open E for an extended period of time, in terms of tension on the neck?
@NashvilleGuitarGuru
2 жыл бұрын
I've definitely kept guitars in open E for days and weeks. I couldn't speak to longer-term, but I've never seen it have a negative impact myself.
@gatoryak7332
2 жыл бұрын
If you are concerned about string tension, string your guitar with extra-light strings. Before you dismiss this advice, try it out for yourself rather than relying on what you've read from random online strangers. I have Martin Authentic Extra Lights on my OM28 and on my HD28. Beautiful tone and so much easier to play. Hey Mom, watch me bend strings! I don't miss thicker strings one single bit.

First section. 6 and 3 together pull off, but what frets?
@NashvilleGuitarGuru
5 ай бұрын
It's 6-4-3, if I'm thinking of the right spot, and the pull-off is 4/2 and 3/1 (string/fret).
