I'm from Little Rock. I worked at Cafe 42. It's a restaurant in the bottom of the Clinton Library. I also lived in the area right by the Governor's Mansion onn 16th Street. Across from that massive Lutheran church that was in your video after you turned around at the front gate of the Governor's Mansion. That area of downtown is called the Quapaw Quarter. It's really nice there, but as soon as you leave that area (it's only a few blocks in circumference), it gets kind of sketchy really quickly. The area where the restaurant is that you guys ate at is called The River Market. That area is relatively new. Back in the 80s, no one went downtown especially at night. The hotel you all stayed at was actually in North Little Rock, which is a totally separate city from Little Rock. A long time ago, like in the 50's, it was called Dog Town, because that's where people would go to drop off stray dogs. The hotel you all were at used to be a Hilton and the steak house there used to be a Benihana. There is a festival every summer downtown called Riverfest and on the last night, they shoot a bunch of fireworks. The parking lot of that hotel is the perfect vantage point to view the fireworks if you don't want to spend at least an hour trying to find somewhere to park downtown and then pay to get into the festival and then to negotiate the crowds. I've been going to that parking lot since the 80s to watch the fireworks every year. Sorry for the long comment. I'm glad you all enjoyed Little Rock.

The area around the Clinton Library all along the river, is crazy dangerous. Perhaps someday, you will travel to the city of Helena, Montana, from whence I came many years ago. If you like huge, Victorian mansions with giant yards and beautiful landscaping, then that is one city you do not want to miss. Look up its history and you will see what I am talking about. At one point in the late 19th century, Helena had more millionaires per capita, than any other city on the planet. Gold was easy to find and many people found themselves incredibly wealthy in a very short period of time. The many huge Victorian mansions, especially in Helena's West side Mansion District, are still there, looking over all of the down town area, which is called Last Chance Gulch. Thanks for sharing your travels with us and perhaps one day, you will get to Helena. But for now, Arkansas and Missouri will do just fine. Take care and safe travels to you both.

I love that you came to my hometown, I really do enjoy seeing how people from outside of Arkansas experience and perceive our small city. With that's said though, I would be remissed if I didn't at least address some of your commentary. There is nothing "ultra Left" about our politics today. There is nothing truly "left" about our politics at all. Nobody is advocating for the abolition of capital, or private enterprise; all politicians in the established American political system are categorically right wing, to varying degrees. We are an extremely right wing country. P s. North Little Rock is a completely seperate ciry; the Wyndam and Four Quarter are both in the Argenta District of North Little Rock. If i could have given you recommendations, i wpuldve suggested going to Hillcrest and the Heights, especially during Saturday and Sunday mornings/afternoons (downtown doesnt really kick off until about 6 or 7). Midtown is also a great spot, just to tour the UALR campus, and do some light shopping.

Yes, there is a parking lot, shared with the River Market and the public park by the river, that was seen under construction. Way back in 1952, I lived in a house behind the mansion.

I'am drawn to Arkansas, I've been looking at video's online and looking at houses for sale online. Arkansas looks beautiful for the most part. I'm a senior and need to live where there is shopping and doctors, but not in a big city. someplace safe from high crime, where I can live peacefully , I love the outdoors, fishing, gardening, church, etc. Can anyone give me any ideas where to look ? I love down to earth folks. I see a lot of homes online in Fort Smith, is it a good area ? Are there tornadoes there ? Is there a safer place from tornadoes ? Thank you for any comments 😊

Ms. Debra, I have lived here all my life in Saline County, Arkansas which is just 10 minutes south west of little rock. Unfortunately, the crime rate in little rock is at a high, and is not the safest place to live. However- Hot springs (Garland County) is full of any riches you could imagine. From beauty to bathhouse row, theres a lot more to do, and places to go in Hot springs. Including a couple of lakes nearby

@@debrabutler9447 You're welcome. Unfortunately I dont know a whole lot about the north west corner of the state, but what i do know is that its situated in one of the most scenic parts of the state. but with it being in proximity to fayetteville, there is a lot of college towns and such in the area. but its also a very well kept area, and is in a way more advanced than the little rock metro area. its a good place to go

@@debrabutler9447 I'm late to the party but I would not move to fort Smith. There is quite a bit of crime there. Anywhere from 20 mi north of fort Smith and up through Joplin Missouri is pretty darn cool
