@@Nathan_Coley for me too, even before phantom liberty. cyberpunk is a different vibe but i like to get back to it once a year same as witcher 3, and with all the updates they were doing since game launched it was actually a different experience every time. phantom liberty is not bad, but its no blood & wine…it does look amazing with pathtracing i must admit. just wish they fleshed the world out some more, the city has so much potential for small details like in witcher.

i also immediately thought that ciri getting on the tree was a reference to the books. also i think the little girl ciri meets in the bog also got on the tree and there was an interaction about it? but i might be imagining things. the interaction between ciri and the girl really reminded me of geralt and ciri in brokilon, only that ciri being the protector now, kinda tying nicely the fact that she's no longer a child that should be looked after. i was replaying skellige lately and had one of the pearl divers die immediately in the ambush. i didn't even remember that you can have them just leave without incident.
@redyaga190

Very good research with that connection to the books in the first chapter. I've heard about initial version of the game, there was a Source-visionary Hvitr with similar powers like Ciri, who met her in Lofoten. There was a ritual with druids and Geralt heard that Hjort is a druid, but it was not true.

Back to it once more yet again! Might be that i once wrote something about the Hunt scene, but it goes even deeper, considering that Avalac'h, who is called "the Fox" gets caught and turned into the best Romance ever, Uma, while Ciri did take a cat school Medaillion from Bonhard. Furthermore, Geralt's story isn't just randomly made up, but it is actually one of the Brothers Grimm Tales.

I don't know if it will be new information, but I noticed that if you did a quest at the beginning of the game, specifically in White Orchard, the /Old Ladies' pan/ quest by the beach, you get to tell Thaler later. I found him in Velen inside an Inn in the back, he was part of one of the Gwent quests (you needed to win a card from him). Sadly I don't remember the name of the Inn, but it was near Novigrad outskirts, just across the river from the "paint maker" part of the city. Also, this is the place where you follow Lambert after you run into him on an Ekimara hunting quest (this is from a notice board, and the local guards paying you), but then he breaks and kills one of the quest givers and you need to run after him There Geralt told him something like "I have found an old lady at your house looking for her pan, needed to break in for it." This was after I ''saved' him from the trolls when he was a shoe-maker - I managed to make him come with me without bloodshed (part of the King assassination quest from Dijkstra, although they have just started to make the plans at this point) So altogether nothing real game-changing, but it was another nice catch from the Makers and a dialog that made the game more alive. Hope you can find it even with these informations. Amazing video btw, great job!

The story of the cat and the fox is an old fairy tale. It is much older than the Witcher books. One of the lesser-known Grimm or La Fontaine (I don't remember) tales. This fable urges people to be humble and protect themselves from arrogance. And although God visited him with various gifts, understanding, good sense, intelligence, wisdom, etc. but he should not believe himself, and should not fall into pretense, and should not hate his neighbor in comparison with himself. The point is that this is a story that everyone in Central Europe knows and only in the West you didn't understand the reference.

The games treat all the books as their backstory so it's always fun to hear these book references and considerign those games are simply brimming with passion and references for source material then such things are galore! :) ""Yes," Braenn murmured from the other side. "How did he respond?" The witcher turned his head. The dryad's eyes sparkled. Her tongue was slightly parting her lips. Evidently, he thought, young dryads are fond of stories. Just like young witchers: they are rarely told fictional stories. Young dryads fall asleep to the rustling trees; young witchers to the ache of their muscles. Our eyes shone, like Braenn's, when we listened to Vesemir's stories, there at Kaer Morhen. It was a long time ago... so long..." The bank one immediately thinks of the book when Geralt was first in Toussaint and various knights and barons were paying into his account in Cianfanelli bank hehe. "' ‘The ladies of Toussaint,’ Geralt said looking around, ‘would not be very happy if they knew of this conversation. Nor would the Duchess.’ ‘We fully agree with you,’ murmured Palmerin de Launfal. ‘We recommend the utmost discretion. There is no need to irritate the bigoted guardian of decency.’ ‘Open an account for me with one of the local dwarven banks,’ Geralt said slowly and quietly. ‘And amaze me with your generosity. But be advised that it is not easy to amaze me.’ ‘We are still going to try,’ Peyrac-Peyran said confidently. ... ‘So that’s were there bank account with Cianfanelli came from,’ Reynart de Bois-Fresnes shook his head. ‘Well, if the Duchess finds out, it will mean new changes in rank, there would be a new distribution of patents. Ha, maybe I’d even get promoted? On my honour, it’s a shame you do not have the qualities of a snitch." Witcher, The Lady of the Lake :) shame that all that money is gone hehe. Also shame that the succubus which was befriended by Regis in Toussaint did not appear in the game! Though maybe since there were already so many succubi in the game the yet another one would be redundant :), but hey it was a more significant succubus hehe, Regis grew closer to her :) in the books though we don't even have any scene sadly. The druid Hjort, well it's also somewhat interesting that druid's longevity is highlighted, as we know from books that Druids are longlived :). That was a fun about encountering the bear earlier and Geralt noting about it in the princess quest hehe.

I just found a little detail that probably wasn't described here yet, please correct me if I'm mistaken. During the "Blindingly Obvious" quest, when you and Triss try to find Philippa, she tries to escape from you in Dijkstra's bathhouse and magically turns Dijkstra's men against you. One of them has a shield and normally you would use Axii to let his guard down in order to hit him. I discovered that it does not work here. Literally nothing happens when you use Axii on him, he can easily hit you during or right after you used the sign. Is this because he's under Philippa's control and he's somehow immune to witcher signs? I also noticed, that after trying to use Axii, he says something like "Cover your eyes!". And he literally has his eyes covered by Philippa's spell. Does that mean that Axii works only if the enemies see you doing it? By the way, I just remembered your video about witcher signs and in it you wondered why Axii's symbol is similar to the alchemical symbol of water. I just discovered, that there's a river in North Macedonia called Axios/Aksios, also known as Vardar.
