Compared to the forte a similar priced Elantra or Sentra comes with push button start and remote start where the forte you have get pretty high up and spend more to get it. Feel like push button should be standard in 2022..

Test drove the GT today and was thoroughly impressed with the ride quality and fun factor. Not as comfortable as the Kona N Line, which I’ve been looking into, but definitely far more of a drivers car. Thanks as always for all of the great videos!

I think that's a great assessment. The Kona is going to be a better vehicle for some because it's a little less focused, but the Forte GT is definitely the driver's car. Thanks for watching!

I recently bought a '22 Forte GT with the 10.25 inch screen. For anyone wondering, because of the 10.25 inch screen, I don't have wireless Android Auto, but it is Bluetooth capable. So, wirelessly, I can use Spotify from my phone, via the 10.25 inch screen, but not something like KZitem music or Google maps. The default Kia navigation system works VERY well though. 23:30 In the US, the '22 Forte GT does have ambient lighting. It isn't very bright, barely noticeable, but it's in the doors, in an area above the door handle. It is also in the outline of the GT emblem in the dash in front of the passenger. I haven't done much night driving, so I haven't been able to fiddle around with the ambient lighting much. 25:30 Rear heated seats must be a Canada thing, same with the heated steering wheel that this '22 GT-Line has. Or maybe it's a colder climate thing. As far as I know, I have every available option on my Forte, and rear heated seats and heated steering wheel were not available in my area. I do live in the Southwestern US, so heated anything isn't that big a deal here. 34:35 In the US, the '22 Forte GT doesn't have a button to open a garage door. Before I bought my Forte, i went back and forth between it and the Elantra. I love the Forte's exterior, but the Elantra's interior. The big whale shark looking front end of the Elantra is a huge turn off, but I do like how its interior is very driver focused. That massive oh crap handle separates the driver's area from the passenger's and the infotainment screen is tilted slightly towards the driver. After watching this video, I'm doubly glad I went with the Forte. 10:50 See the fresh air and recirculating air buttons in the Elantra? In the Forte, you have one button, recirculating air is either on, and therefore fresh air is off, or vice versa. If the Elantra is anything like the Kona, you can't turn on or off both buttons, so why have both of them? I know it's a minor detail. A bigger deal is the placement of the charging pad in both cars. In the Forte, the charging pad is on a shelf in the center area above the USB ports and beneath the climate control, and there's still a cubby to dump change, candies, or whatnot. The Elantra's charging pad is that cubby. I'm not an expert on wireless charging pads, but after reading the owner's manual section on it, it tells you to make sure there's no metallic objects on the charging pad if you intend to use it. So, forget dumping your loose change in there. If Peter, or anyone else, can offer any insight into charging pads, that'd be swell. Am I being too cautious with my wireless charging pad? Also, because of the location of the Elantra's charging pad, I'd be more afraid of spills. I guess that's why the Elantra has the extra deep cup holders. I'm loving my '22 Forte. It's my first "high tech" car. Prior to the Forte, I owned a 2006 Scion xA, which I loved, but the highest tech thing about it was power windows, door locks and steering. I'm still getting used to all the bells and whistles in my Forte.

That's an excellent point. The new navigation is improved over older units, so I don't mind using that over Google maps, and streaming music does allow me to have a fullscreen display on my car of my playlist etc (Apple Music) and combine that with Satellite radio and you can get a lot of the CarPlay functionality without having to wire in. You can activate Siri easily whether you're on Apple CarPlay or just bluetooth.

Of course, the Forte is not available as a hybrid, while the Elantra is. I purchased a 2023 Elantra Hybrid, and absolutely love my purchase. I typically get around 4.5 L/100K, which is just stunning. The electric motor gives me lots of pep off the line, the 6 speed dual clutch computer controlled transmission just snaps through the gears with incredible precision, the independent rear suspension gives me great handling, and the electronics package is just stunning. What an incredible car.

I am looking at a 2022 Santa Fe PHEV Limited. Dealers have none on lots but they have gas versions... however when I look at the Hyundai website, the interior of the PHEV Limited looks more like the gas-powered Calligraphy model, rather than the gas-powered Limited model (specifically the seat quilting). Can you comment on which gas car is the more accurate representation of the PHEV Limited interior?
@BrantfordKia

I'm going to have to do a little research to be sure... bluntly, there are a LOT of vehicles in my head, and sometimes even I don't remember every little bit of trim in each vehicle. I'll have to look into it, and maybe I can make a video to answer that.
@5DollarHoller

@@BrantfordKia No worries. Appreciate the response. Sort of not sure what to do. Sat in a Santa Fe Calligraphy today and it was amazing inside, but my wife thought it too large for us. We then jumped into a Tucson Limited and I was so disappointed with how much worse the interior was, both in terms of seat comfort and more hard plastics everywhere... but if we want a PHEV there aren't many other options in the segment at this price point. With comparable costs (top trim Tucson vs top trim SF PHEVs are only like $2,500 USD apart) I had hoped the Tucson would be much nicer is all. Love the channel thanks!

I was watching a video with the US version of the Elantra and where the heated steering wheel button is they put the AC button and where the AC button used to be was a blank switch because they didn't have the heated steering wheel option. That looked silly, but I guess they wanted the blank switch more to the right instead of the middle for esthetics. Why else move it?

In the US the Elantra only comes with 6-way power driver's seat "plus" two way power lumbar (8-way I guess if you add them together). The Kia Forte upper trims come with 8-way power seat "plus" two way power lumbar (or 10-way total). Basically the front of the driver's seat cushion on the Forte tilts upward for better thigh support while the entire seat goes up and down as well. In the Elantra the entire seat raises up and down only - the front does on tip upward for thigh support.

Yeah, because I didn't have the powered seat in this Elantra, I wasn't able to compare them directly. What you're saying sounds correct, but I'll have to jump in another 2022 model to see if there are any changes. I don't expect any.
