Lol how is a 2031 first and a 2030 pick swap a lot? Ant will be in his prime so those will be garbage picks (just like those jazz picks). I mean seconds before you were saying naz was prob the piece and then seconds later 2031 pick is too much?

Right 🤣🤣🤣 i genuinely don’t get how any spurs fan think this trade was good on any level, and people act like im delusional when i say that they shouldn’t have traded the eighth pick in the draft for two picks in the low 20s 😂 people genuinely believe that minnesota is going to be trash enough with prime ant dilly mcdaniels reid shannon that it outweighs any upside they could’ve gotten out of dilly matas or williams etc. they could’ve just picked dilly as their sixth man so they would be relieved of having to rely on tre jones or keldon johnson for that spark plug in offense, but now they don’t even have a backup plan for if castle doesn’t pan out 😭 one of the stupidest picks ive seen in years

Spurs most likely are never going to use those picks. They turned one 1st in “the weakest draft in years” into control of 2 future 1sts. The guy is 164 lbs. They also cleared $7 mil in cap space this year. They are absolutely gearing up for a trade sometime in the next year for either a disgruntled all star or to move up in 2025 draft. This was a fantastic trade, just because you need satisfaction right now and have an iq lower than my dog, doesn’t make you right.

@@denzel8827 plus it’s seven years into wemby. Like unless they also trade the pick soonish, they’re turning assets that could help wemby as he comes into his prime for an asset that may help post prime. Why not surround him with stuff now and get him deep playoff experience (like ant got) instead of some late first after wembys had to carry the team for 7 years.

Trade back and risk missing your guy? Nah. I like what Charlotte did. Swing for the fences. No Risk, No Reward. At least he shot better than Matas, Holland, Castle, etc... Lee Coached Giannis some... Hopefully he can unlock spme of Salauns potential.

yeah they do run stuff occasionally. Just don't think it's what they live off of either in the same way that a lot of teams do.

@@GameTheoryPodcastwSamVecenie yee for sure. my question is do you think baylor is a guy that deserves to be featured to that extent in any team's offense? bc if he is thats a huge win for boston at 30
@taylor7264

they consistently run actions leading into ball screens in order to get the mismatch they want, but those actions can lead to shots for a gguy like baylor n they run stuff off-ball to give their stars an outlet if/when they draw help. if baylor is really like that they'll be more intentional creating looks for him in those situations. thats what i mean by flexible. they let the situation dictate what they're trying to do but again i get what you're saying, they dont live off crazy actions like the warriors or the heat etc

The Blazers cap and roster situation was completely solved in one fell swoop in the Deni Avdija trade as well. Portland couldn’t draft two rookies with their current roster at the time and stay under the tax. They shedded enough salary with the Brogdon for Deni contract swap to get them out of a bad situation. They also cleared up the guard rotation for Scoot, Anferneee, Shaedon. Now Portland can see what they really have at the 1-2 without any worry. With Deni also being on the very best value contract in the NBA, it’s also a huuuuge benefit for Portland’s salary management for the next 4 years. All in all they killed multiple birds with one stone, traded for a player with upside and experience, in a position of need, that fits perfectly, yet also makes the team more cohesive and competitive.

I feel bad for Kyle Flip and Johnny Furphy. Green room invites not drafted on Day 1. This is why I’m a firm believer in draft prospects not returning to school to improve their draft stock. I remember Kyle was projected to be a top 20 pick last year. For him to not get drafted in round 1 in a supposed weaker draft must be a gut punch for him. I hope Kyle and Johnny gets drafted into a great team situation in round 2.

I absolutely love this trade for the Blazers. Plus, size shooting and defending wings are the most valuable commodity in the entire NBA. When you get a young 2 way wing with playmaking, defense, finishing, shooting, on the very best value contract in the NBA, that’s a home run.

I don’t think Blazers overpaid AT ALL to get Avdija I think wizards were dumb AF to get rid of him. 14th pick in a horrid draft + future protected 1 and Brogdon (hurt a lot and not on their timeline) for one of best contracts in NBA Avdija who was AWESOME from February to end of year (final 28 games) all in his 22/23 season. His last 28 games he averaged 19 9 4 60 TS% Deni played at near all star level Feb March April last year (on bad team yes but still impressive especially with his defense/toughness/age/size).

Wash absolutely fleeced Portland! Will Dawkins pulled a Presti. I feel Avjida is overrated. As Sam said Port doesnt need a low salary role player. I'd rather havw Bub over Deni but at best that was even(plus McCain & Knecht on board).Plus Brogdan? (On a good team. ie Bos- hes pushing 50-40-90
