The guides have a heroic goaal to guide & protect each individual they work for. All while trying to insure that both guide & climber arrive back down alive & well. Sadly these Sherpas are only paid from 1500-2000 for the entire 3months of hard, extreme, & dangerous work. The government, touring companies take the majority. They can only make one trip to Everest a year as it is a seasonal climb. It's such a low amount for such difficult & unsafe work. So if you choose to climb Mt Everest be sure to directly tip the person that is in charge of guiding you. Many of these men are risking their lives working hard to provide for there families.

I know this because I have 12 years of Mountaineering experience. Some of my biggest climbs are Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, and my biggest victory is Lhotse. I too have fallen into a Crevasse even when my team had already checked the grounds. One of my most scariest accidents was when I fell off my ice ladder and into a deep Crevasse in Lhotse, my team had to rope me out and yank real hard for 12 minutes straight whilst I dug my ice hammers into the Crevasse wall infront of me and digging the claws of my boots into the wall, I slowly pulled myself up until I made it safely thankfully. Like I said, no matter how experienced you are, you still make mistakes even when everything was throughly checked.

At least the Sherpas can make a living by helping these fools to create the illusion they're climbing the Mount all by themselves.

No need to try to rescue me even if I'm only 10' down. I'd die of a heart attack as soon as the snow gave way.

I was thinking, could it be a much deeper crevasse? Our retired physics teacher in the hole may be on compacted snow, that hasn’t given way. Mr camera guy could drop in, sending both to the bottom of the crevasse. Sherpa’s deserve huge Respect. Sorry. I’m a little pissed off. It’s Friday night. Am I climbing mountains? No, I’m lay on the bed on my phone. My wife’s grabbed the sofa so she can watch some airheads on tv pair off with one another on an island. And…well frankly, it’s not fair.

@@kwasjemycat9236 For me it is rewarding being close to nature, overcoming the physical and mental challenges, the exercise and the feeling of accomplishment. Not to mention the incredible views and scenery. I hope you get to try it some day. Sorry my comment was rude, I was drunk and thought it was funny 🤷♂️

Ya gotta love how a freeze-dried dead hiker’s corpse simply becomes a way-point on the climb. lol That’s probably what Ötzi is. Just a dude who died climbing the Alps back in the day. Just another dude having a mid-life crisis and decided to climb the highest mountain he knew of “because it’s there.” But scientists have concocted this elaborate story about who he was and “how he must’ve died.”

The mountain is paying humans back for all the trash they leave up on the mountain. The climbers say they care about the environment, but they don’t. Spend thousands of dollars just to say you climbed a mountain that someone lead you up. Just doesn’t make sense to me
