Just wanted to say that I appreciate all of the comments from everyone with suggestions on how to make the live streams better! I'm committed to learning new strategies on how to improve the experience of the livestreams... and some of the learning process comes through trial and error. It's never going to be the quality of footage that you see on a normal video, but it's a great way to hangout with you guys and for you to see some of the behind the scenes stuff on how I make my videos. Expect more live streams in the future!

Eastland mall used to be very upscale. Lots of affluent shoppers from the Grosse Pointes. It was originally open air, and then when the enclosed malls became popular, Eastland went into a decline. It was eventually enclosed, but it could not compete with newer suburban malls.

I used to live in that area. I actually used to live across the street from Enimem before his family moved. That area is pretty bad now. The shootings got worse once my family moved away from the 48205. Back when my family lived in the area, the neighborhoods were pretty nice.

30 years ago it was very nice. My first house I bought at 23 years old was on Manning and Kelly in 2000. It was quiet and full of police and firemen, I bought that house from a retired cop for 75k. By 2006 we were running out of there, in 5 years that neighborhood went from quiet to Vietnam. What I didn't realize is that because of the city worker rule of living in the city is why they were selling homes over there pretty rapidly, and when they left it got crazy really quick

We love Detroit even though it's not a place to live anymore and out jobs are gone and it's dangerous. But Detroit is the best in the World. That's where the blue collar steel worker and auto worker built the American Dream and went up north on a family vacation every Summer and hunting in the Fall and fishing year round! Michigan was heaven for by and of the working class. Winter. Water. Wonderland. And Detroit was home.

I lived in LA for about a decade or so. My boss and I got out a map (yes, there were still paper maps then) and did our best in finding two points that were the furthest from each other WITHOUT leaving the LA city limits. Talk about urban sprawl--- 60 miles!

I remember this neighbourhood when it was nice. My Uncle & Aunt had a home, there. I had friends who had a home on Dresden, with an in ground pool. I took care of their place for a couple of summers. Motor City Race Track used to be at 8 & Schoenherr. Many or the auto races were televised locally. I was just thinking. It would be nice to see Windsor, too. And, then you mentioned it. LOL Storm is coming through. You must have just missed it.

I used to live just a couple blocks from Osborn High. I was a single mom, buying my home. I stayed only three years, the schools being the main reason I left. My street went through a real down after I moved, but my recent drive through the street was making big strides in turning back around.

Great video, especially at the end where you make a left turn onto Harper AKA I-94 service drive. I grew in GPW and Eastland Mall used to be a great mall and was a place as a teenager in the 80's I would hand out at. Just an fyi it's pronounced east-land not eastlind. Where you made a left at Harper to get onto 94 east there used to be a Speedway gas station there for years but think it's a BP now.

It makes sense to me that if you were in Google Maps for a while, with the livestream in the background, that you'd see problems. I'm a software developer by profession, though I admittedly have somewhat limited experience with Android development, although I do have some. As far as I know, modern Android will reclaim memory if your app is running in the background long enough, and can close apps. It's why as an Android developer you need to handle app lifecycle properly to account for that.
@ChrisHarden

Funny that you said this while I was researching better alternatives. Would you say that having a Netgear wireless router in the car would help? I’m serious about mastering this remote live stream madness. Or would getting a 2nd phone and having it be an Android be a possible solution? You probably know more about this stuff than I do.
@clamum9648
2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisHarden I don't believe a router would help. But yeah a second device would be ideal, I believe that would solve it. I'm not 100% sure on this but I do know Android can close background apps and reclaim memory so it does make sense. So a second device would be ideal, or you could perhaps try a different Livestream app, maybe it would handle being in the background better.

@@clamum9648 Thanks for the suggestion. I used the basic KZitem app for iOS on cellular data and just hit the live video feature. Some parts of this drive I had 2 bars on LTE, while other parts I had 5G. Google maps was running in the background on the cars Apple car play feature… don’t think I’ll be doing that again.
@clamum9648
2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisHarden Hmm. Part of it may be due to the lower signal/bandwidth at times then. I think I'd try and get a second device, even if you could borrow one and see if it helps before committing and buying one. If it still happens with two devices I'd say it's a good chance it's due to bandwidth.

Atlanta metro is the poster child for sprawl. Nashville is very sprawl as well as most southern US metro areas have rather low population density. LA's metro, while very large in area, is much more densely populated in comparison, as well as over all population.

Unless someone in another car is chasing you and shooting at you, or someone tries to carjack you at a stoplight, probably none. And if someone does get uncomfortably close to your car at a stoplight you can probably safely blow the light to get away, because there's so little traffic.
