Masterclasses of the Riga Jurmala Academy - live flute with Emily Beynon, the principal flute player of the Concertgebouworkest.
Born in Wales, Emily Beynon began her flute studies as a junior at the Royal College of Music with Margaret Ogonovsky and then went on to study with William Bennett at the Royal Academy and with Alain Marion in Paris. In 2002 she was made a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music.
Emily is an enthusiastic protagonist of new music and has had many new works written for her by some of the UK’s leading composers: John Woolrich, Sally Beamish, Jonathan Dove, Errollyn Wallen, and Roxanna Panufnik. Education is one of Emily Beynon's passions. She taught at the conservatories of The Hague and Amsterdam. In 2009 she founded the Netherlands Flute Academy (Neflac) with Suzanne Wolff. Neflac organises courses and concerts for talented young flutists from the Netherlands and young international professionals.

Reina Kotlere is currently in her final year at the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Music High School, where she studies under Andis Klučnieks. She has taken part in several Latvian competitions, including 1st place at the XIX and XX Kārlis Štrāls International Young Flutist Competition. She has performed as a soloist several times with the kokle ensemble "Balti", as well as recording a CD-Zīlīt' skaisti padziedāja-with the same group.
