Jeanne, Greetings from rural Alaska. I am 73 and I call em' tablets too. As for the folks who say "legal pads" they missed the boat (must have been too busy with gossip over the back fence). The correct term for the modern ad blitz generation, is "yellow pad" or simply "writing pad" for all except the true "legal tablet/pad". The official specs on that since the early 1900s are: 8 1/2-by-14 inches, the hue of a canary. Wide-ruled, with blue lines, a red-ruled 1.25-inch margin along the left side, and a top binding with perforations just below it. That way, the pages stay put when you flip them, yet yield if you want to rip them.

Love the idea of a topic: Never buy a man a chain saw and then leave town. All my shrubs were 2 feet tall. I came home and asked him, "is there something you want to talk about?"

Jeanne what you should have said about taking the crown is: "TRY to Take My Crown & see what you get! I turn into a Honey Badger!!" Love ALL your stories. Especially Left Brain saying, "I don't know BOB. Now I know a Robert." ....LOL rolling in the floor!

The punch line for the red ring could be you telling about the sister calling and asking if you have the ring and you then smile really big and say no ,while holding up your hand wearing a red ring.

Oh, Jeanne, I love the cake story! As a teacher in a very small town, I have seen some serious misbehavior when the school utilized door prizes to encourage parental participation. I have a story I would love to be able to tell someday...it involves a batch of decadent home made chocolate chip cookies and some really shocking nerve belonging to someone who desperately wanted them!

I love the cake story! It reminded me of my mo who used to work with senior citizen’s at a nutrition site. They met Mon-Fri and they also had social gathering for Christmas and other occasions and she constantly had stories of this sort of misbehaviour. Over quilts the ladies made, present that were exchanged at parties and the fellows in their dominoes games!

I love this idea of running your stories by us! On the cake story....I am a Yankee With Southern Roots but we have miserable folk who would do the same thing. I actually had someone in church ask what I was doing sitting in their pew! And As far as I know we Baptists never owed or bought a pew! Tell it! Same with the Ring story and the Blind boy story......I was cracking up! But with today's cancel Culture glue that crown on!!!!!😄😄😄😄

Jeanne... when I was growing up our church had a huge remodel. All new carpet and Baptistry Curtians etc! Anyway they decided to ask folk to donate a certain amount of money to pay for all new pew as it wasn’t in the budget to replace the opera seats and too expensive to recover. So the church suggest that folk may do a pew in memory of a family member that had passed! So my dad consulted with my mom to donate a pew! Each pew had a brass placard on the end of the pews! Well everyone paid the same amount for their pew. But 4 pews two at the front and two at the back row of the church! My dad moms name was put in the front pew which had an indentation so a wheel chair could sit there! My dad was a deacon and really a quiet sort of fella(my mom was the extravert!)... but he decided to have a joke with the pastor and tell him he needed a partial refund on the pew as he’d paid the full pew amount and his pew wasn’t as long as the others! He was only kidding but the pastor got so mad he took the brass plate 🏷 off the pew and placed it on to a longer pew!...my dad ended up telling every one how funny this was that his moms tag brass plate removed and replaced and he’d go on to say the next person needed to get a refund too. My daddy didn’t really care where his mommas brass plate was but had the best time at the pastors expense stirring the pot as they used to say! My dad and momma and this pastor has all pass on the story is yours. Enjoy
