The “Kimberly Effect” is something I can relate to. While I am watching you I am “Lori Holting” my scrap bag (ie. cutting scraps into square sizes I’ll use later). My husband doesn’t understand, but I know you all will. Happy Holidays!

I have used stitch witchery for years. If you adhere the stitch witchery to the fabric before you put it on the quilt, it is much easier; just use a teflon sheet under the stitch witchery or some people say a parchment paper works, too. OR, buy yourself some HeatnBond Lite Iron-on Adhesive. It is a paper backed, iron-on, sewable, double-sided adhesive for bonding fabric. It doesn't gum up needles, and can be used in place of pinning or basting for applique shapes on quilts, wall hangings and more. 5/8 inch x 10 yard.

Another alternative to stitch witchery is school glue stick or little drops of liquid school glue. Just swipe it across the back of the fabric, put it in place and press it with an iron.

The Christmas store in Michigan is in Frankenmuth, MI (a German town) and its called Bronners. It's the largest Christmas store in the world. I think it covers several acres. I'm originally from Michigan and it's a great place to visit, stroll through Bronners, then have lunch. It's amazing. I have to buy several things every time I go. They have everything!!!

Hello Cecelia! If you have any of our Low Volume fat quarter bundles (this is a good place to start www.fatquartershop.com/fat-quarter-bundles?theme=604) you can combine them with any of our Fat Quarter quilts from our Fat Quarter books. "Marquee" or "Mosaic" from Fat Quarter Style would be very good for this!

When I put a label …I use my Janome embroidery sewing machine…I cut same fabric as backing put it in my 5 by 7 hoop, put the date ,my name , maybe a message to the person I am giving it to them I also put care instructions also on label…thread is same color as backing so it blends in. I will hand stitch it on edge just the 2 sides that won’t be under binding… then as you machine sew on binding you tuck the other 2 sides under binding…that’s my thing

Loved how you did the quilt label! I never thought to make one so big. Looks absolutely beautiful. I am a little confused, though, on where you placed the label. You showed you wanted it on the lower right, but I think it will turn out to be on the lower left, once you turn the backing right side down. Not really important, but I have been sitting here contemplating this, due to my touch of OCD. Also, by doing this first, does the stitching from the long are distort or interfere with the label? This would certainly be easier than sewing it by hand after the quilt is stitched together. Thanks so much for all you do for quilting. Have a happy holiday season.

Hi Kimberly, I don't want this to sound mean or anything because I really look forward to watching. But you do always ask for our opinion. I really like it when you used to show quilts at the couch better, so we can see the whole quilt at once. I really don't like it from the table because it is not too pleasant to watch with all the moving around. I hope it doesn't hurt your feelings that I say this, I did not intend that at all. It is just my opinion. And I love the low volume quilt.
