They already sat through the entire trial, saw all the evidence and interviews live in front of them, so to me having to sit that many days afterwards to deliberate would be extremely annoying. Especially if there's jurors who have a different perspective from yours and trying to tell you that your vote is wrong. That would be a very very frustrating thing to experience. They needed to say, even if you don't believe John was bitten or in a fight, or any of the "cover up", the fact is, if they didn't prove Karen hit and killed John, that's reasonable doubt. I keep seeing comments from people talking about stuff that technically isn't relevant. Like the dog bite, or Dr. Russell. None of that matters if you don't believe Karen hit John.

@@Npvisqueen I don't see them retrying it for a few reasons. One would be that the Prosecutor is an elected position, and this case is insanely expensive to try. The tax payers foot the bill, and they won't be happy re-trying a case which most people agree shouldn't have had charges brought in the first place. It risks Lally's position in re-election. Secondarily, the cops in this case were made absolute FOOLS of on that witness stand, and there's absolutely no way they cannot be called again in a second trial, as one of them is of course Proctor...the lead investigator in this case. The Commonwealth risks even MORE people finding out how corrupt their local system is if they're forced to put those clowns back on the stand, which could cause a LOT of issues politically there...and at the end of the day, these goons care more about their political standing than what happened to John, sadly. Thirdly, the FBI had this case investigated (and still has it ongoing), so clearly there are Big Brother eyes on this situation, which I'm sure the Commonwealth wants to avoid at all costs. Therefore, re-trying this case is going to insert to FBI metaphorically right up their ass, which they don't want. I just don't see them re-trying it with all these factors involved. They'd risk a second jury coming back with an acquittal since their case is so weak, and thus, citizens in their local jurisdiction being pissed that they wasted tax payer dollars on re-trying such a fundamentally flawed case.

Let alone believe that they would be downright nefarious as they were in this case. I also wouldn't discount the effect having the Alberts and McCabes sitting with the O'Keefe's during closing arguments had on some of the jury. Whether it felt like intimidation or they just understood that the O'Keefe's think Karen is guilty and they want to help this grieving family, I certainly think it played a role in their resolution. I feel awful for Karen and I won't lie that it frightens me that people are so swayed by emotion and that there are many people walking among us that can't separate their preconceived notions from the law. If I'm the only holdout for not guilty, my thought beyond that is to consider the danger posed to the public if the person is guilty but goes free. Why? Evidence of texts by Proctor showed why. 8) why did Fairfield homeowners IMMEDIATELY re-home their dog after YEARS of having it? who did they give the dog to? Why did no one ever track down dog? 9) Why did homeowners coordinate w/others @ who were at Fairfield that night after tip off of FBI investigation if no tip off abt FBI - delete cell phone data, destroyed their phones + SIM card & delete phone data & did this all asap 10) Why did they show inverted video then @ cross immediately advised it was mirrored & reversed showing Proctor & others spending time at the taillight & rear of SUV? 11) Why does that footage show a person appear out of nowhere in video? Video seems tampered with. 12) How can you believe she’s guilty after hearing experts saying SUV didn’t & couldn’t have struck him? 13) There was NO injuries from the neck down, nothing on chest or abdomen. NO blood, body tissue, clothing found on rear of SUV let alone damage to SUV. When someone’s struck by vehicle there’s dents & blood etc. 14) Expert witnesses explained the PHYSICS why SUV didn’t hit him. CW put someone NOT qualified & speculating that SUV struck him which defies physics. 15) did anyone nor yourself consider putting into context why KR said she hit him. Did you consider she was saying that as a question? trying to reconcile what happened? She’s trying in her mind to figure out how this happened. Then realized/discovered there was nothing on SUV showing impact w/him. 16) Evidence of timeline show CW’s timeline wrong. KR was at home at 12:34? I believe… 17) during a blizzard no way any debris - such as a glass would be left on SUV even after being towed. No way a hair could also be on SUV & if so JO was in & out of SUV soooo many times before. Please those who feel she’s guilty I’m seriously trying to figure out why you feel there’s NO doubt - beyond a reasonable doubt NOT based on emotions, speculation how she could’ve struck him, NOT because you believe she’s a b**** or any type of personality you feel she has, and NOT because you feel all defendants are guilty & ALL defense attorneys and their experts are all there just to create doubt so you automatically disregard them & their experts - you need to listen to their complete testimonies. Just focus on the facts and evidence as presented at trial- if you found yourself as a juror. Please advise why you stand by your Guilty stance Remember legally “Not Guilty” doesn’t mean “Innocent” it just means there wasn’t enough evidence to show “Guilt beyond a reasonable doubt” Please help me understand your reasoning, honesty- not being snarky or anything just looking for some understanding.

Who thinks they’d be able to get an untainted jury for a retrial in the same location? If the CW retry this case they’re basically wasting taxpayers dollars

If they retry this case that just gives karens defense team more ammunition against the witnesses for the CW during cross. Need a different jurisdiction also

I don't believe that the jury is hung on KR guilt or innocence. This is something like; someone killed JO. or someone has to go to jail. or The hold-out or hold o -outs are enmeshed with the community and the Alberts. or They don't believe the cops could be that corrupt. I don't believe that a lawyer wrote that jury note, nor was it written by AI. It was written by an articulate person trying to find the magic words not to be sent back to deliberate. Congrats on 400k

I truly don't understand how a reasonable person could not see doubt. I don't understand why the jurors are allowed to have their cell phone during deliberation.

I was a juror on a federal death penalty case. We found him guilty on all charges except one. I was the only hold out. The others sympathized with me but didn’t feel he was legally responsible. We sent a note out to the judge, who basically agreed with me. We took one more vote and all 12 voted guilty.

How many days of testimony was on the Albert’s time at the kid’s basketball game before going out to drink? How much was centered around McCabe’s phone? All the time before the prosecution ever got to the theory of how John was killed or even the Medical examiner’s testimony. All the defense needed was three experts to show he wasn’t hit by a car.

I don’t think the defense wants the jury to start comprising because Karen goes to jail. A mistrial keeps her out of jail. No splitting the baby.

I don't understand how anyone could vote guilty after the defense's witnesses. I always think all bad things are my fault. I can see myself saying, " I did it. I did it" even if there was no way I could have done it. Kind of like Charlie Brown.

I find it wild you don’t get the full transcript. We in aus (at least in the a.c.t) get one physical copy and one digital copy. We also take notes, but the transcript was essential. I was able to go back through the transcript and prove that he lied due to having it. I was able to remember the lie and half the others vaguely remembered it (I was correct nearly word for word lol) and showing it in the transcript was able to convince the others.
