It looks like rust on the earring I carry a magnet to check. I Don't mudlark or dig bottles and other treasures in the dump but I used to recycle and get stuff out of the trash people put out . And now I just get stuff at thrift stores, antiques malls, yard sales , estate sales, and pick in warehouse places I know a few people who demolition houses that are old or flooded or fires or just for build new buildings. They take everything out put in a warehouse and I go there and pick . But yard sale and estate sale are best because they just are liquidating because of moving or a death or retirement. Once the neighbors were doing it for a old man and women who went into a retirement home . They didn't know anything about the stuff they put a big folding table out covered in jewelry thousands of pieces. They said a dollar each . I got out my magnet and loop .then realized it all was sterling silver!!! I bought all my money's worth like 150 dollars. 150 piece of sterling. And I just didn't have any more money. After I bought the best I told the people there like 5 or more people ran to the table as I was leaving.

I randomly did some quick math just to see how much money you'd get for that anchor as scrap metal lol. Someone said it weighed 5 tonnes, and on a scrap metal website it said 1kg of iron is about £190. 5 tonnes is 5000kg, so £190×5000= £950,000 🤯 Better get your angle grinder out, Si 😂
