Programme Note:
The Pink Trumpet Tree, also known as the Tabebuia Rosea Tree, is a tree with a crown full of pink flowers that grows along streets or in parks. It typically blooms between March and April and again between August and September.
The work 'The Bloom of Pink Trumpet Tree' depicts a scene in which the pink trumpet flowers are falling and children are happily picking them up and playing in the park.
Starting with the glockenspiel, it represents the falling of pink trumpet flowers. The main theme symbolizes the joy of children playing in the park, while the second theme evokes emotion as the pink trumpet tree blooms only twice a year for a short period of time. The structure of the music is AABABAA, and the second theme introduces the harmony of a major seventh chord.
