@@rebeccaboch1552 AMEN! I R.I.P. and thanks for the memories. I literally grew up with him. I started watching when it was "The Morning Show." (The local show before it was national.) I stopped watching when Kathie Lee left. It just wasn't the same. Soooo glad they reunited on the "Today Show".
His voice is so reassuring and so genuine. He will be missed.

TealCircle Of course, but now it is final. No more Late Night appearances, no chance of a reunion on Live. We will miss knowing that the calm, father-like presence and subtle humor of Regis Philbin. He was on TV a lot between the 1990s and early 2010s; many feel like they grew up with him. While almost nobody on here knew the man personally, we feel like we did. That’s what we will miss.

So the day I started loving Regis and Kathy was when I had to miss school to go to the dentist. I was petrified!! They called my name as it was my turn seriously felt as though I was going to the electric chair. I was sitting in the dentist chair and luckily they had a tv for you to watch while you are waiting for the dentist to come see you. I remember Regis and Kathy was on and they were so funny they brought me joy and comfort. Thanks for the Dentist for having tvs for their patients, I think all Dentist offices should do that. But thank you Regis and thank you Kathy for making me feel good!!!!!!!

It’s sad how Regis passed. I also loved Regis Phillbin He was so funny, entertaining, and such an amazing man to watch on TV ofc. I remember this show ‘cause my mom and older sister would watch Live Regis and Kathie Lee. I was born in the year 2002, and my sister was born in the year ‘91. Ik about Regis, because I would also watch Live with Regis and Kelly with my mom when I was little, and I loved watching that. He was such an icon to all. His legacy and memory will live on forever ♾❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙 R.I.P to Mr. Regis Phillbin Gone but Never Forgotten 😊😊😊🤟🤟🤟

Kathie Lee had the makings of a natural comedienne. She likes to think of jokes and punchlines that put a humorous twist on things. She could easily have nurtured that talent and become a great comedienne or comedic actress.

Never realized how fast Regis talks, and how fast he goes from one thing to the next. Trying to keep up. Lol. He really is such a sweet guy! What a great morning show, watched for years and years growing up with my Momma in the mornings, but as I’m typing this I’m listening to him in the background and I’m he’s talking so fast I’m like, “Woah.” I think he must have been a morning coffee drinker and had more than two cups before the show began, by the time he got out there his mouth went a mile a minute. I notice Katie Lee can barely keep up either, she hardly gets a word in edge wise, but by the later seasons she actually talked a lot so it evened out. Hahaha. 😂

The fact that they premiered the national show on Labor Day was brilliant. What better day to debut than a holiday morning when people that have the day off work are either home or haven't yet ventured out to do whatever they had planned for the day. More viewers than the following day (Tuesday) when folks go back to their regular routine. Smart programming!!

From a production standpoint, this TV show is unique for the lack of cutaway shots during the first segment, where it was just limited to the astrologer and just one for the audience; where the camera stayed fixed on Regis and Kathie Lee for the majority of the segment.

I really loved Regis and no one can compare even though Kelly Ripa ttried manyCohosts. Finally she settled on Ryan Seacrest who is okay and I’ve gjotten used to him now even though he can’t top Regis as a cohost. He tries his best and is very congenial but no one can top Regis Philbin! Just my opinion. For what it’s worth. I taught 8th grade English for 22years and am now retired so I can watch what was the Regis and Kelly show. I love it and try not to muu Miss it. I watch it with m m y first cup of coffee! It makes VM m e BBC smile like a -----. I never could get that last word so I leave it out-sorry. Maybe whoever reads this comment will know that last word. Kathie Lee Epstein Johnson Gifford had been a fill-in co-host on "Good Morning America" on ABC-TV before she landed the co-host job with Regis Philbin, first locally (on WABC-TV) in New York as "The Morning Show," then eventually nationally syndicated as "Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee." And before that, Kathie Lee had also been the singer on a syndicated version (1974-78) of the game show "Name That Tune" with host Tom Kennedy, and on the syndicated musical-variety show "Hee Haw Honeys" (1978-79). Even earlier (circa 1970-71), incredibly, Kathe Lee had a job as the live-in babysitter-secretary for pop and Christian music singer (and 1958 Miss Oklahoma, second runner-up in the 1959 Miss America pageant) Anita Bryant. That was just before Miss Bryant (married name at the time was "Mrs Bob Green") became ensnared in a controversy over a gay rights ordinance in Miami, Florida, which Miss Bryant opposed and over which she ultimately lost her job doing TV commercials on behalf the Florida Citrus Commission, due to a national boycott of orange juice and orange products organized by gay rights groups and other left-wing political organizations. Kathie Lee herself has also long been associated with Christian music, even though of Russian Jewish heritage on her father's side, her mother was Gentile, including some Native American heritage. Her biography on Wikipedia states Kathie Lee was converted to Christianity from having seen the Reverend Billy Graham-produced film "The Restless Ones" (1965) when she was 12 years old in 1967.And younger persons are very gullible, as well impressionable. In fairness, the star of that low-budget dreck was Johnny Crawford, former original Mouseketeer, teen idol, and once co-star in the popular TV Western "The Rifleman." Hard financial times must have forced Mr. Crawford to have accepted that role in an evangelical Christian film produced by Billy Graham. So perhaps the young Kathie Lee had been smitten with the boy actor who once portrayed "Mark McCain" in "The Rifleman," to the degree she forked over a few bucks to see Crawford in even a badly-made film.
