Hello Therese. I missed the live and the replay has been awesome. I've loved each piece as it was completed and particularly the flower onto the black. I'm still not buying the laminator and am becoming more and more intrigued each time I see you make something. I haven't been with you for a few months and am thankful to be back. Crafty hugs.❤️🇨🇦❤

When you use the left over foil on the toner sheets you can continue the cycle by using another colour foil that will then just stick to the exposed foil pattern .

The minc and fuse are identical inside because they are made by the same manufacturer. That is according to Gina K herself. Identical in how they work.

Great technique Therese and I love playing with the foiling products from Crafty Critta but I always struggle to make them into cards - can you show us how you used the leaves and then the left over foil on toner sheets to make cards? I think its just because the foiling is so busy sometimes, do I just do a plain sentiment and that's it or do I add other elements?
@lostinpaper

I certainly will do that Kirsten, because I know exactly what you mean. Did you see my video using foiled background panels? You can watch it here kzitem.info/news/bejne/pW2Ar2aahnthhm0si=V7RVONcnvwvROFeT

Your foiled flower looked like there was too much pressure on the machine, so the lines were so thick....is this possible? Since we can only see it on screen, wondering if this was acceptable foiling in person? Doesn't look like from here...sadly.
@lostinpaper

Yes, this is definitely not a precise technique, it can almost give a rustic look, which is how Gina K described it. This is why I chose a looser style stamp without fine details. It does actually look very pretty IRL. but it's probably not eveybody's cup of tea. I saw someone else try it and their lines were finer, so I am wondering if they used a regular laminator with only 2 rollers... less pressure and leas heat may allow for finer details. I don't think I have my old machine anymore to compare. Thanks for your lovely visit here today 😊
@dizzinese

The fuse is only a 2 roller system. The mfg first told Gina it had 4 but he was wrong and it only has 2 rollers just like the minc.

@@lostinpaper I just got mine recently and it does work very well. However I must tell you that I had a terrible go of it the first time I used it. I had a laminator before which I kept for bigger projects and likely if I use Decofoil duo paste to foil. I had no problems with that laminator using it that way and the Fuse has only a 6” opening so you can’t laminate letter size color charts, etc. also I saw a demo done using just embossing powder with a stamped image then foil applied and put through a laminator. I would not want to use the fuse for the embossing or paste foiling because it will smash the lines down harder and flatten them out so they will be wider if using the Fuse. I hope that made sense. I recommend keeping your laminator even if you get the Fuse. Also I had previously been able to use a cheaper toner foil that I bought on Ali Express. That foil did NOT work in the fuse. I had to invest in all new toner foil. That’s why I had a rough start the first time. Gina recommends setting 3 even on the thinner toner card panels and sheets even though the manual says 3 is for thicker cardstock. Those are the 3 things I learned and hope will help you when you get yours. Also if you get any foil or paste, etc in the clear carrier sheet, you can use pure acetone to remove it. It will not hurt the carrier sheet. I hope you enjoy it! It’s coming to you soon!

@@dizzinese Thank you so very much, you are a wealth of knowledge and I'm so grateful you shared. I am sure that my 'lines' are thicker after embossing and foiling purely because of the pressure of the 4 rollers. Now I have to go check and see if I threw out the laminator... I think maybe I gave it away lol. Sending crafty hugs your way, Therese x

@@lostinpaper thanks Therese but I wouldn’t go that far. I get a blip in my brain here and there. But definitely keep the laminator if it’s not too late. I just used mine to make new CP color wheels. Plus for office use or organizing your craft room. I made my own dividers and such. I hope the tips help! XX Denise
